But you can't do that with Thor and it's tough with Iron Man and Cap so I wouldn't be surprised if those characters actually sell better in this format than Spidey will.

I'm a DC guy moreso than Marvel so I love what FTC is doing but I really hope this line works for you as well and I'll look at picking up some of the sets at least.

And we aren't FTC, but I'm sure we would have released figures in a format similar to our past releases if we'd had the option. This was entirely a product of the license. I hope people can get past the price and look at what they're getting, what that would cost normally, and what they'll probably end up selling for in the future.

Not sure of head material, myself -- I think we've done different things with different lines -- but I'll ask, and maybe Doc can fill us in.

Great news!!! The more we can get out of this line the better. Keeping my fingers crossed for some female figures. Looking forward to SDCC.

Marvel is the licensor, we (DST) are the licensee, and Hasbro is the master toy licensee. Unless Hasbro decided to make them, whoever got the license for 8-inch dolls today was going to face the same restriction.

will we see more prototypes at SDCC this month?

Isn't Captain America scheduled for release in December?

Hate the price, but excited to see what comes after Spider-Man, which I am hoping (and have a feeling) is the boring-est of the sets.

Besides price, the biggest thing for people to get over? differentiate? is that DST is not FTC and the business model is going to be different, whether it is due to license issues or not. I would love to see all of the Marvel Mego figures reproduced, but I find it quite interesting that DST is getting into new characters so quickly. We knew Wolverine was coming, but I wonder who else is being made. I doubt he makes the cut, but I would love to get a Black Panther ReMego!

I don't want people thinking that we are offering these sets as some kind of a cash grab, or that we don't know what fans want, or that we are doing this out of anything other than love for the Mego toy line and the Marvel brand. Obviously, the line needs to be profitable for it to work, but there are much easier deals we could have signed that would have turned a profit. I'm pretty sure this deal is in no way similar to any deal any other toy company has, and there were a lot of obstacles. But we wanted to do this one. Doc did AND DST did.
No problem at all with you wanting to make a profit, hope you make a ton of cash off this, that's the only way to get more awesome figures.

Unlike your boys at Figures, who couldn't be bothered.
Have you actually read this board? I can't blame them at all for not being here trying to pacify extremely high-maintenance fanboys/ armchair executives that are convinced they know more about running a business than they do. That's why they answer questions on FB and email/phone, and don't get bogged down on the nonsense here.

Doc knows better than anyone what goes on here, which is why he keeps his head down working and only shares info when he has something to share.

Will these extra heads be made from the same material as the reproduction Spidey? I'm not sure what the official term for it is, but the rubber-like heads we associate with Megos.
