How do you guys open your clam shells?

I have yet to open one without breaking it. I hear these are reusable but mine go straight to the trash. Just tried again with Metaluna and failed.

I hear ya dude- I tried cutting a few, with scissors, but they usually looked so bad after cutting, I threw the clams away...

I use heavy-duty kitchen shears and cut slowly just below the dotted line--it seems to work OK for me.

With the Universal Monsters, throwing away the cut clam wasn't a big deal cause they were so awesome I bought a few of each figure & didn't need to put figures back in clams. I opened some & left some packaged...

That plastic is sharp. I slit my finger open on a Star Trek figure several years ago

on two that I have mugato and zira I didn't want to cut them so I actually managed to pull the clams apart without cutting them or breaking them ,it can be done, and they close back together like new and still have the hanger loops

I've never had a problem opening them without cutting. Just slowly seperate.

Yeah ,sometimes you can just pop them open with no trouble,thats why it would be so easy to change something and then seal it,and
like someone on line may do and try and sell it for a lot of scratch as a factory error ,which would suck for a unsuspecting buyer.

The ones I've gotten have been pretty solidly welded. I've never had a problem cutting on the dotted line though.

Has anyone here tried using a rotary can-opener? I saw that trick on some life-hack site.

I think the FTC seal is a much better way to do it.
