    Venture Bros. bummer

The next four figures were supposed to come out in October. Now the release date is June 2014!! Another eight months?? How is it so hart to get these figures produced? What is the delay for? The factory must only employ one person. There isn't anything about the figures that looks like it should delay production.

    Shockingly frustrated...

Are other lines so popular that the factory is going to be too busy for two-thirds of a year to get to them? Sometimes things get delayed and then never get made. I hope that isn't the case with these figures.

Well that sucks. I was looking forward to the new ones since VB seems to be the only line I'll be collecting them all. Hopefully one of the Jasons can come in here and give us the scoop on this. I needs me some Shore Leave, Alchemist, Hatred, Pete White and Jefferson. Badly.
I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.

I love the Venture Bros. show but getting the figures has been difficult for me. Even finding one online or on Ebay at $10.00 bucks will cost be $16.00 to get it shipped to Canada. That is just for one figure. The standard shipping for more than one carded figure is at least $20.00. My local comic shop never got any, and I checked this awesome shop a couple of cities over called Toy Traders that have all kinds of stuff and used to have the Star Trek mego repros, but they haven't had any in :(
Trying to buy some in Canada on Amazon Canada is insane as the prices are way high. I just keep checking Ebay for loose ones that pop up, and hope to snag them.

You VB collectors aren't alone. I just got a notice that the Doctor Who DALEK I have on order, which was due in September is now pushed back to November.

I think it's more about preorders then the factory being busy. A couple of months ago I got a call from EE asking me to preorder some Six Million Dollar Man figures and was told that if a certain amount of preorders weren't in by a certain date then the figures would get delayed. I can understand that in order to be sure of not losing money BBP needs preorders before actually going into production but with the uncertainty of when they will actually get made I can't preorder anymore and commit monies that I can't be sure of when I'm going to be charged. Maybe I can afford to buy this month but by the time figures come in I've had expenses and can't really afford to get the charge.

I'm going to think it's about getting enough preorders to warrant production. Diamond does this sort of thing a great deal, we don't notice it much.

Yeah I don't know any of the details about how these companies work this stuff out, so I am not speaking on that. But, I do work for a couple bands, filling their orders and doing their websites and stuff. They have done preorders in the past, and for them the preorders were done out of necessity. The more preorders that came in the quicker the album would come out and they slower they came in the longer it would take. Which is an ugly situation to be in because the people that preorder first end up getting frustrated and pulling out which causes even more delay. As the web guys and order fillers, we also answered all the nastygrams that the websites received even though we technically had no control over the process. It is a process that is really fan controlled, want preorders to go faster... spread the word, encourage other people to buy, help advertise.
My posts were needlessly deleted ...

I pre-ordered them. My conscience is clean! HAHA!!

I'm actually happy to have more time to save money for them.

Same here. The BBP boys will deliver. They always do. There are a lot of elements at play.
If a Mego figure of God did not exist, it would be necessary for EMCE to invent him.

Hard truth time. We do need pre-orders to bring the current batch of 8-inch figures to market. Are they cancelled? No - not yet. Are they delayed because of this reason and ONLY this reason - yes. Is this a catch-22 for our retail partners? Yes - and we get this.

This is not about anyone here on the Mego boards, including our highly supportive retailers. We completely understand that you have supported our brands, been extraordinarily kind and insightful, and have pre-ordered. Unfortunately, there are not enough people here to bring some of these retro figures to market today.

This is about the larger market, which is not as receptive to this style as they were a just 18 months ago. We are actively and aggressively seeking interested parties, of course, and will not rest. We have a great sales team and trust in their abilities.

So, nothing is cancelled (yet), only delayed. But we can't order minimum quantities and bring them to market if 60% or more will be sitting in our warehouse. And we can't delay these forever. Licenses expire, royalties need to be paid, Studios need to see results too.

We are fans first, and a business second. The business part is currently holding up some of our fan ambitions. So yes, please continue to help us spread the word and let's get those pre-order numbers higher!

                      Many thanks!

                        Jason,
Are you referring to the current batch of Venture Bros figures, or to all the lines you are creating retro action items for? i.e. Six Million Dollar Man, Doctor Who, Battlestar......
