Lots of New BBP Doctor Who Revealed!

Great face sculpts on the new Who stuff, though it reaffirms that I'm not sure I want new series stuff in this form. We'll see. It all looks great. Now, if they made River Song I'd be very tempted...

I’m always excited when I see Bif Bang Pow!’s booth at SDCC or Toy Fair because I love their Who products…and I was not disappointed tonight. Several new 8″ retro figures we…

    Revealed:
    The Tenth Doctor
    The Eleventh Doctor [7B]
    Amy
    Rory
    The Hurt Doctor [Mock up]
    Clara [Mock up]
    River [Mock up]
    Silent [Mock up]

Also love the BSG stuff. I will own them all!

    I'll just take Doc 10 and 11.

Face sculpts for Rory and Amy just aren't for me, but I'm curious how John Hurt will look like...

Zero interest in news series characters done in this style. The classic era Doctors and monsters are absolutely perfect for the retro treatment, modern stuff in this style just doesn't work in my opinion. The 2nd Doctor, Jamie and an Ice Warrior or the 3rd Doctor, Brigadier and a Silurian would've been bliss.

Not interested in any of these BUT, we did have a great run of Tom Baker era figures so I understand it's time to release some new series figures.

Can't wait to hear about about more oldies made into figures.

Besides any Doctors I'd poop in my pants with glee to see a Delgado Master

The Master, Omega, Silurian, Sea Devil, Axon, Auton, so many great Pertwee baddies that would be perfect for the Mego treatment.

I'm cool if they did a group of new series, then a group of old series, and so on and so forth. I mostly just want a Third Doctor, Master, Silurian and Sea Devil at this point. Everything else is just extra icing on the cake.

                This statement makes zero sense.

You mean to tell me that if MEGO had survived into the modern era that they wouldn't be doing figures of the current characters?

Retro style doesn't mean Retro only. If we don't expand, the the 8" figure remains a niche market, and a niche can't sustain itself, no matter how passionate. It was one of the foremost discussions at Mego Meet.

The sooner we see the 8th Doctor, the Better!
Looking for Green Arrow accessories, Doctor Who Sonic Screwdriver, and Japanese Popy Megos (Battle Cossack and France, Battle of the Planets, Kamen Rider, Ultraman) and World Heroes figures

Much like Star Trek TNG, I don't feel new series Who translates as well as Classic Who in this format. That Tennant looks nice though. Looks like BBP is hoping to cash in on the 50th Anniversary (special).

Damn you and your stingy likeness issues Billie Piper!

I think that's plain and simple crazy talk.

Thinking like that will kill the Mego Renaissance. If BBP thought like that, in five years all that would be left is a room full of aging fanboys sitting around asking what happened?

                      Hmmmm....

They're nice and all.... but we need more monsters! I won't be happy until I have squads of each generation of cyberman.

To be honest, I also feel that this format is better suited for Classic Who. It's just the way it feels.
True, it may alienate younger fans who only follow new Who, but let's face it, series 1-4 have all been classic Who anyway.

To me, Retro style and Classic Who are the best fit. Which doesn't mean I won't pick up a 10th and 11th Doctor, for example...

Seems like it's too late to do Amy & Rory. They left the show a while ago. Maybe Chris Eccleston & Billie Piper would have been better.

Well, I'm well happy as I managed to find a picture of the first Doctor figure on the AFI website.
I'd be even more when and if I can grab mego figures of all the Docs.
I really love the idea of John Hurt's mystery Doctor. Well done BBP!
(I am sort of worried about availability in the UK though. )
