Dark Shadows Wave 2 - CANCELED

Just received notice from EE that my long waiting and previously postponed preorders for Dark Shadows Wave 2 have now been canceled a month before the latest listed release dated, along with the product apparently. Wave 2 is also listed as canceled on EE's web site.

I am so bummed about this.

I had a hunch this was going to happen. They showed prototypes quite awhile ago but there seemed to be no promotion of the line since Wave 1...

Well after all the excitement about the new Figures World's Greatest Heroes line the past few days here's some more very discouraging news for Mego collectors. This is right up there with the lameness of Vina and Chapel and Retro Action being cancelled. Dare we get our hopes up for any line in this style these days.

The next production of the Barnabus figure was also apparently cancelled. That sucks. I just purchased the Werewolf as a companion piece for this figure I pre-ordered months ago. Wow, that sucks. I hope BBP's date changes are not foreboding of similar bad news to come.

I've never understood why companies do this. Just release the damn figures. You've already paid for the license, the sculpts, and this close to an actual release date, the tooling most likely already exists. Even if sales aren't stellar, isn't SOME money back on your investment better than none? And don't you owe it to those collectors who invested THEIR hard earned money in the line with the promise of being able to "collect them all"?

Another thing that gets me is...if the line was in such danger of being cancelled, why not reach out to your fan base?
A simple update saying "Hey guys, if you want series two to happen, we need some more orders." would be enough to spur potential buyers, procrastinators and maybe those on the fence.
