i've been waiting years for this Leela

Years ago I saw a custom by member Yanouli that used a Mary Ellen Walton head for a Leela. I have been itching to make one since then, but that would mean I would need an 8" Doctor.
Well, bbp gave me the 4th doc, and then they graciously promised a Leela outfit that I would not have to sew up myself.

A year (or so) after said promise, and I finally have the Leela figure I was after. Added bonus - the retro action bodies were made in the interim, so I was able to get a slightly more curvy companion.

    jelly baby?.....

That looks really good with the Ellen head, and she has rooted hair!
The Mattel body is great for a curvier and bustier figure!

Mary Ellen doesn't cut it for me as Leela but the Mattel body looks great on her.

The molded hair is a separate piece on the bbp Leela. I am thinking about defrocking it and doing a reroot.

I think the price of Mary Ellens is going to go up in the next few weeks...
                Very nice custom indeed!

                      We grew up with Leela.
She was pretty, scantily dressed, and liked to resolve most issues with her knife.
Of course we were in love....

Ok, so you are forgiven your ignorance of the lovely Leela for the last 35 years.

I left my Leela in Bangor, Wales...sob....

As a kid, we went to Wales many times. During a visit to a grocery store, I found the Tardis, the 4th Doctor and Leela in the "Barbie section". Why did I leave Leela there ? Why?
I still have my Doc and the Tardis, though.
