At last my friends! The time has come at last! After a year delay, Waves 3 & 4 of the Doctor Who toys from BBP are in our grasps! Are they worth it? Let's take a look!

First up, packaged pics. The packaging we've come to expect. Now with the 50th Anniversary logo. Morbius's blister is much bigger than the other's because of his bulk.

Speaking of the Morbius Monster, he is AMAZING. I actually think he's a lot more fun than the CO version. I think it has to do with the fact that soft goods clothing allows him to have the fluffy bits in show, and the larger scale really lets them put in a lot of detail in his dome. Easily one of my favorites in the line so far.

He cuts an imposing figure and is very well put together. Very satisfied with the overall construction. The material of his suit is a little limiting for posing, but it's okay with this guy. It's not like he did ninja moves in the show.

The claw is soft plastic, and is pliable enough to put around the Doctor's neck!

Scaroth suffers a bit in comparison to the other figures because he doesn't quite have the visual zing. But, the sculpt of his head is VERY nicely done, and even the multiple layers of his outfit are pretty successfully recreated. With Scaroth it's all about the head sculpt, and again after the slightly disappointing CO version, this is a nice release to have.

Now, for Leela! I've been very excited to get our first companion. Good stuff first. her outfit is topnotch with a ton of detail. Not only do you have a sheath for her knife, but there's an actual working pouch to hold some Janis thorns! I am glad they went with sculpted hair, to be honest. I just prefer it, and it doesn't really hinder her movement. The not so great? The paint on her mouth. I was worried about the open lips look, and because of the paint it looked VERY weird when I first got the figure out of the package:

It looks odd in that pick, but in real life it was even more strange. Like she was gritting her teeth or had an overbite or something. So, I did something I rarely do and repainted that area. I added some lip color and filled in her teeth area, and then went back in with some white and carefully applied it. I'm MUCH happier. As difficult as it was and as precise as you had to be, I wonder if it was a good idea to attempt. In the future, I think it'd be better for BBP to skip the open mouth look. Hopefully I just got a bum one and most are better.

But, that concern taken care of, she's a really awesome figure! So cool to have her teaming up with Tom!

Raiding the wardrobe...

And, finally, another great figure... Sutekh! He's SO cool. The suit is so well constructed and sewn. I love how they recreated his outfit here, and he's incredibly imposing on the shelf!

I really cannot brag enough about this figure! He's my second favorite of these two waves behind Morbius. Very nicely realized.

The collection so far! Pretty impressive collected together already. This last year has been a painful wait for these guys, but overall I definitely think it was worth it. The quality of these is really nice. It seemed that the hands were a bit more pliable than in the past, which is nice for gripping weapons. Overall the paint was well done (except Leela's mouth) and the construction was clean. Very happy I got into this line. I only hope these waves do well, and the next few waves are more expedient in getting here!
