I saw the previous post on them, but now that I have them in hand . . .
I have to respectfully disagree. Yes, the heads arent perfect. Yes, Spock's uniform gaps too much on his back. Yes, to be snow-accurate, they should have on Klingon boots. And yes, I also think Diamond dropped the ball by giving them the "good guy" blue accessories instead of the "bad guy" red ones (though a quick trip to Dr. Mego's can solve that one. Hmmm . . . )
But you know what? I smile just looking at them. They're the figures I would have wanted to go with my other Treks as a kid -- that was one of my favorite episodes, and being able to play out all the sequels my grade school-aged brain would've been enough. And using the standard Trek legs and boots? That's just so Mego-y, I really think it works in capturing the feel of figure that could have been part of a third wave of aliens originally (say, along with the M-113 salt creature we got from Diamond and the green Orion Slave Girl I'm still hoping to add as a finishing touch to my display one day! Anyone?)
My Mirror Kirk is posed on my bridge with his right arm extended out in "Mirror, Mirror" salute, with Spock next to him, hands clasped behind his back, looking just slightly over his shoulder. Honestly, they're exactly what I hoped for in these. I'm glad they made 'em, and that I was able to lay my hands on them!
