Got mine today! Pics to come soon. One slight issue... no keychain in mine! I hope that's not too wide spread!

Keychain?? Where did you see that it came with a keychain?

It's on the box front. It comes with an SFX keychain that fits into the console (well, supposed too. )

I have another shipping from WhoNA.com (I wanted one to display open and one to display closed) so hopefully that one will have it.

First things, first. It's made out of cardboard. Completely. Now, this is entirely in keeping with the classic retro playsets that inspired it. I was a little surprised that the console was cardboard too. I actually thought that part was going to be plastic, for some reason. But, that being said it's VERY thick and very nicely made. It feels incredibly sturdy. And it's not just flat cardboard. The edges of the TARDIS are separate so it actually has some dimensionality.

The K9 is very nicely done! It's a static piece, but it's very well painted. Seems a bit large in scale with the figures, but something about that seems appropriate for a retro line.

Of course, now that the TARDIS is here, who knows who will lurk around...

You open it up (where the front doors are, logically) at the side. It's held there by a magnet, I believe...

When you open it up, you have a very nicely illustrated and detailed TARDIS! it's a bit of a tight squeeze if you just use it like this, but the console comes out for a reason, and the walls can extend out more than I have it here. If I have one little gripe about the console, it's that I wish the center console part was more detailed and try to show the interior. I can see the issues with that, but it just seems a bit plain. But that's very minor.

Here you can see it opened up a bit more and with the console removed. Lots of room to play in! Or just display your figures...

So, all in all very fun! I know some people might balk at the price. But for $40-$45 I think it's a really nice, fun piece. I, for one, am happy to have it. With all the other cool retro lines and the array of figures BBP has coming up, there's going to be opportunity for lots of different adventures!

Loving it! It looks very reminiscent of the Mego/DenysFisher TARDIS (in terms of the exterior, I should say).

I'm a bit discouraged to hear that it's all cardboard, but nonetheless I will still be picking one up as it looks awesome and its play value is what counts!

Thanks for the photos, Jonwes! You've got me even more excited now! :D

Looks great. Mine is lost in winter storm 'Q' somewhere. It would be a little more fitting if it was an enterprise play set.

              This looks cool.
I've lost some wind in the sails after learning the top, base, and console aren't plastic though - I assumed they would be, like MEGO had done with Forbidden Zone. I figured the console shots I'd seen were the prototype. I guess I'll just make one. *shrugs*

Glad you guys liked the pics!

Tothiro - Yeah, although I will say, I realized quickly they weren't molding the controls. So I thought they were just going to be stickers on plastic. So the plastic versus cardboard doesn't make a huge difference to me. Making the top out of clear plastic would have been cool with some cardboard insert, but I suppose this way the only thing they had to pay mold costs for was K9. In the end, my display and fun factor wasn't lessened because it was cardboard.

I personally thought it might be covered in vinyl, but looks fantastic. Great shots by the way!!!!

Nice photos, mine hasn't arrived yet. The original Mego Tardis is (somewhat delicate) cardboard, so this fits right in.

Thanks all! Apparently my time Rotar was in the wrong way round? I'm really confused though because there are graphics on the current "top" but if I pull it out (it came assembled) and turn it around then it just has a plain top. So I don't know if mine was assembled incorrectly or if there aren't supposed to be any graphics on the top of the rotar.

                        Edit:
Actually, looking at the picture on the box, it seems like mine was put together correctly and there is supposed to be a white section at the top of the rotar. I'm actually a bit confused about the rotar. There's so much loving detail in the console graphics, but I really have no idea what the artist was trying to do with the rotar. It just doesn't seem to represent it at all. Oh well, a VERY minor thing in an otherwise lovely set.

Dr. Who finally has a Tardis to hang out in. The design for this is fantastic. I love how the console goes together with the sound key chain hidden inside.

Sorry if the picture turns out funny, first time adding an image.

Cool! My second TARDIS had the key chain, no problem. A great piece!
