BBP BSG second wave?

I'm somewhat disappointed, I had contacted Bif Bang Pow! via twitter and they said all the figures they have taken preorders for for would be released. Less than a week later I noticed the preorders for Sheba , Ovion , Imperious Leader were off most sites. Only Athena set is still up , now changed again to October. I hope they surprise us with another tin tote three pack before their license expires!
The last time I was so excited then bummed was when classic tv toys made the Space 1999 without the two lead characters!
I really want some BSG goodness , please find a way to release the prototypes shown.
I'm afraid when the license expires , no one will pick up the line. I can't be the only classic BSG fan willing to buy all of these??

You're not alone my friend. From what Jason said a while back, only Lucifer and Athena remain on the definitive production list. There wasn't enough support for the other figures to get them into production before the license expired. So it looks like Lucifer and Athena will be the last. It's too bad. I loved this line...immensely. Jason from BBP does too. But the market isn't there for these remaining characters. In my opinion, a sadly underrated line. He was so close to covering all the remaining characters. But tons of credit to him. He got fairly deep into the series. I applaud BBP for their resilience to make as many as they could.

Yes , I agree I'm glad they gave us what they did , I listened to a podcast the company they dealt with regarding Doctor who sounded difficult to work with. I have not heard with issues dealing with the BSG license, and cast seems so eager watching them at the videos I've watched. I was sooo wanting the ovion!! At least they have released some that we can reuse the suits for customs. The finished Athena looks like it will be hottest rooted hair 8" female yet. I'm wondering how many turn her into their fave heroine? I bet she sells out fast.

Yeah. I like the look of Athena as well. Hopefully Jason will be providing some definite details as to the release date here shortly.

The missing characters from 1999 is a likeness issue with the actors, not FTC dropping the ball. Same goes for Mike Brady being MIA.

And there in is the issue. There is more support for these figure then is shown by preorder numbers - I love the line but won't preorder something that I have no way of knowing when it's coming out, I need to budget for these things. I know I'm not the only one who doesn't do preorder and if that's how BBP is going to judge whether a figure has enough interest then a lot of thing will never get made. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad with what BBP has done and I know they're a different business model the say FTC but FTC ( while they do preorders ) doesn't seem to rely on the preiorders to determine if a figure is being released, they release it whatever the preorders are and they release on a consistent scheduled. Maybe it would have been better for BBP to try doing lines like this as Kickstarters, at least the people preordering would know where they stand as to how close the figure is to getting made.

We never publicly took orders or pre-orders for Sheba, Ovion or Imperious Leader. At this time, those figures will not be released. But Athena is shipping... TODAY.

The Imperious Leader , and sheba sets are still on my bbts preorder list , you may have not given official preorders out , but someone should tell stores to cancel the orders they are still on my preorders page since I ordered them . In the past when an item is cancelled you receive an email from BBTS. I still show 3 sets I preordered on my account. Thank god they do not charge until they ship.

By the way after I reread the twitter message , I mentioned the sets I specifically asked about the ovion , you replied;All the figures we have taken preorders for will be produced. At that time many stores had already taken preorders for the items. BBts as mentioned in my first post took off their menu. But never cancelled preorders already placed. Google preorder Bif Bang Pow imperious Leader and you can see the BBts preorder page before taken down. That's alright I will cancel all orders from your company. Whether you "officially offered" or not is simply word games to me . That's ok FTC will get my money from now on.

^^^Aquaboy just so we're all on the same page, Jason was very upfront and forthcoming about the line. He officially announced on this thread back in February that Lucifer and Athena would conclude the series. I understand your disappointment, but that's a disappointment that is shared by BBP as well. Jason is a big fan and tried to bring all of these to market. I wouldn't be too harsh on him for matters he had no control over. See his announcement below, dated Feb.24th. I personally think he did an awesome job and I'm glad he fought to get these last two to market. Thanks Jason!

BSG will end after Athena and Lucifer ships. SMDM line will end after Astronaut Steve (with smaller head) and Barney Hiller ships. The remaining six figures shown for The Venture Bros. will all be released. The future of The Twilight Zone line in 8-inch format hasn't been finalized yet. Dexter 8-inch will also be released. All remaining figures recently show at Toy Fair will be released, including series 1 and 2 from The Big Bang Theory, Mike Tyson, Penny Dreadful characters and Ace and Gary.

I'm familiar with those who do not want to pre-order items a year+ in advance, and those that want to see a final sculpt before ordering. We've cancelled very few items in the history of our company that we've actively solicited for pre-order online. The figures we do show at trade shows sometimes don't make it to market - but that's what trade shows are intrinsically for. For San Diego Comic-Con, we've decided to refrain from showing prototypes that are not scheduled for production. We are simply adjusting our strategy to only show items that will make it to production. We are not giving up on the 8-inch format at all. More will be released from our company.

BSG and SMDM licenses end in August and as a close partner, NBC and BBP are jointly moving on from these licenses at this time. We will not be making 3 3/4 inch BSG figures.

Phew. It's all out there. Let's discuss.

Thank you for the link , I was not a member did not go back. I however stand by what I was told via twitter , it was misleading. To the response of no official preorders were taken is BS, I'm not an argumentative type of person , but I do not like being misled or patronized. BBTs had product Id numbers as well.
