BBP BSG second wave?

Entertainment Earth is now showing the actual figures, BBSG and SMDM. So this is the end for these two lines? Am I to believe the Big Bang Theory is the only line left to carry the 8 inch torch. I find this hard to take, BBP said the 8 inch format was alive a well. BBP also said they would be starting a new thread soon which would list the figures going into production and future plans. I have collected everything but the Venture Bros. I really hope some new lines are on the horizon. Fingers crossed.... -
We got six characters (with 2 more to come) and three variations of the Cylons. In total we will have received 11 different figures from the classic line. That's an impressive run. It's been equally fun on the Six Mill side. Great to see the line end with the Seven Million Dollar man. I will cherish all of these figures. Thanks guys!Leave a comment:

But of course. If not for lucifer, to enlist the rest of the waltons family in the colonial fleet.
Now that the Female Waltons can be armed with a blaster I am all set up for it.
(I am repressing my deep despair over the loss of Imperious leader and Ovion)Leave a comment:

We were so close to an Imperious Leader and Baltar. Happy for Lucifer. I will buy 2.Leave a comment:

Yes, Thank you BBP for the time you invested into this. Regardless of how well the next set comes out, I will purchase them. I will also keep buying
the existing figures for parts...
Because even if they are not always 100% accurate I will find a way to work things out.Leave a comment:

Thanks, BBP, for the clear answer. This way, we can stop useless speculation.
If Athena turns out ok, I'll buy her and Lucifer to support future ventures of BBP.Leave a comment:

I appreciate the transparency that you guys and gals put out there and really love almost all of the 8 inch figures you've released. Considering the state of the economy and consumer spending trends over the past 6 years I really applaud you for putting out as much as you have. Keep on keeping on! Would like to suggest you guys think about 8 inch versions of the Dungeons and Dragons characters from the cartoon series. Shout out to my pal over at the Toy Room of Insanity for the inspiration on that one.BSG will end after Athena and Lucifer ships. SMDM line will end after Astronaut Steve (with smaller head) and Barney Hiller ships. The remaining six figures shown for The Venture Bros. will all be released. The future of The Twilight Zone line in 8-inch format hasn't been finalized yet. Dexter 8-inch will also be released. All remaining figures recently show at Toy Fair will be released, including series 1 and 2 from The Big Bang Theory, Mike Tyson, Penny Dreadful characters and Ace and Gary.
I'm familiar with those who do not want to pre-order items a year+ in advance, and those that want to see a final sculpt before ordering. We've cancelled very few items in the history of our company that we've actively solicited for pre-order online. The figures we do show at trade shows sometimes don't make it to market - but that's what trade shows are intrinsically for. For San Diego Comic-Con, we've decided to refrain from showing prototypes that are not scheduled for production. We are simply adjusting our strategy to only show items that will make it to production. We are not giving up on the 8-inch format at all. More will be released from our company.
BSG and SMDM licenses end in August and as a close partner, NBC and BBP are jointly moving on from these licenses at this time. We will not be making 3 3/4 inch BSG figures.
Phew. It's all out there. Let's discuss.
Again bravo to you all for doing what you've done and what all else you have in store.Leave a comment:

I still hope the tz alien will make it. Until then, I sure hope people will start pm ing me who share interest in this line. Now that BBP is out of the picture,
If we can consolidate our efforts, it will make it a lot easier to get these figures built (and built the way we want them) as customs.Leave a comment:

Well... that tears it. The only thing I will be collecting now from BBP will be 3.75 TZ unless the decision is made to continue 8 inch TZ. Very disappointing news.Leave a comment:

Would be nice if someone would pick it up. Otherwise I am looking for any customizers who want to join me with this...Leave a comment:

Well now it's official. They did respond to my second e-mail and said there were not enough buyers for this line to continue. I can only hope that someone will pick up the license and run with it. This show even though it lasted one season still to this day screams potential. I do think the way to go with it now would be the 3 3/4 scale. Zica you listening?Leave a comment:

Well, I don't want to overestimate my importance to toy companies: their first priority (quite understandably) is making enough money to keep afloat (and hopefully a little more).
Our little corner of the world (and this forum) won't be their first stop to break the news.
But we have learned a valuable lesson: instead of speculating and hoping, just send them an e-mail!
On a personal note, this does end my BBP purchases for now. I do hate it when lines start (and get your hopes up) and then crash (for all sorts of reasons).
Ah well, money saved!Leave a comment:

Exactly my feelings. It's like after all our years of support, we don't matter anymore.Leave a comment:
