The good doctors' heads seem a little large. But some old dudes have big heads! The others looks good to me. They've got big '70s hair that's for sure. Thanks for the comparison, btw. It would seem odd that these would be large. The Twilight Zone heads are pretty perfect if not on the small side a little.Comment

I have a Kanamit which I've dyed to match a Ponch body color (Rit Tan by the way... I haven't added red in yet to see if I can flesh-tone the B&Ws though, maybe I'll do that next. B&W has kept me from picking up other TZ figs, it'd be nice if I could work a solution to fixing them) - anyway the face seems especially small (for mego) on that one. It's actually not far off from a realistic scale for the body, so then Cap/Spidey vintage heads are enlarged by about 8-10% over realistic, and several of the remegos seem another 8-10% larger on top of that. Like good Dr Wells there - I was actually surprised by that one. I have a few friends at SDCC right now and was planning on having one picked up but I told them to ixnay the Wells figure when I saw final pics. There seems to be a surprising amount of scale variation happening, and I wonder if it's all coming from the same or from different factories. Maybe it's a QC thing? It would appear to be a sculpt issue from the way the Wells heads turned out (by forehead to neck ratio) but I certainly don't know the process.Last edited by Tothiro; Jul 13, '12, 11:18 PM.Comment

There was the podcast with the sculptor of the Universal Monster figures and he did say there can be quite a variation between factories. And I think he also mentioned that there wasn't as much shrinkage as there used to be.Comment

The "Prototypes - heads will shrink" signs are I'm sure a necessary standard sign, given all the grief and confusion tossed their way over scaling questions, but the BSG figs and Rudy Wells are legit retail final.
In fact I went ahead and had a buddy at SDCC pick up the four main BSG for me and I put in a request to remove my name from the EE list. I should have them in hand tomorrow and if so I'll have an official first impression.
I like the Cylon and would have gotten the gold 2-pack if not for the lack of chroming. I'll pick up another cylon down the road and send the parts off to be gold chromed.Comment
