Very doubtful there will be any new classic Trek figures other than possibly another Kirk or Spock in different outfits if the Mirror Kirk and Spock sell well. Vina and Chapel were cancelled due to lack of interest ( hard for me to believe too ). Pike was fine other than the head was oversized a bit. -
^^^ yeah it is hard to believe ,and yet their was enough interest for emce to do barbara & karen cooper??.i was very hopeful
that they would do chapel and vina ,i feel like theres a void in my emce star trek set everytime i look at them,i liked the night of the living dead girls and bought them ,but i would by far rather have vina & chapel , as for pike?,well its
head is way to big ,its not a bad likness ,the part that sucks is when its displayed with kirk & the others, the head
really stands out as to large ,perhaps those talosians wanted pike to lo look more like them-lousy butt-heads.Comment

I don't think Diamond had anything to do with the Night Of The Living Dead figures, so EMCE doesn't have to worry about retailer interest.Expectation is the death of discovery.Comment

Diamond was not involved with NOTLD - except to buy a lot of them at wholesale for distribution
to retailers. Diamond Select Toys makes the licensed figures. Diamond Comics buys product to
sell to comic shops, etc.
All I can say is that Chapel and Vina may not be dead yet. I am working on a scheme. Stay tuned.Comment

I had all of my EMCE Trek figures displayed together a few weeks ago and Pike does look a little out of place. I don't really have any complaints about him other than the oversized head. The bubbles on him and the Salt Vampire are thicker too which looks a little out of place when displayed with the others. The one thing that really bothers me the most about Pike and Salty are the pics of Vina and Chapel on the card art knowing they were cancelled. Thanks to what Paul posted in this thread maybe we will have them after all. Man I'm really hoping for them.Comment

I hope to see them too,i don't have,if any,any female representation in my megos and would look forward to chapel and vina,I'd also like to see rand, trelane, sarek, harry mudd...Comment

I too was very bummed about the news about Chapel & Vina being cancelled.
Adding those 2 to my collection was something I was really looking forward to.
That would be awesome if somehow they would get made (fingers crossed.)"...You can capture the Klingon & bring him back to the Enterprise!"Comment

Hope it pans out, the end of the Trek line was a big let down. I have no interest in Next Gen or the Mirror Mirror variants. You must try to generate happiness within yourself. If you aren't happy in one place, chances are you won't be happy anyplace. -Ernie BanksComment

Keeping in mind that there is yet another high profile Star Trek movie being made, I am pretty optimistic about the future of the Star Trek retro line. I think the success of the reboot has fanned interest in TOS given that it is Kirk and co running around the big screen, albeit in new performers. I really can't see it as an either/or situation, but a double win for both old and new fans since refreshing a property inevitably seems to mean that the classic version is generally kept in the spotlight as well. Good and Bad. Prometheus and Dark Shadows might not be most folks' cup of tea, but in the past year, the chatter and buzz around the original properties have been higher than if they had remained dormant. With the added bonus of sparking interest in classic merchandise.
I get why folks might be upset and once again predicting gloom an doom for the future of the line, but even if this is all we get, look how the EMCE releases have now eclipsed the original by adding in the missing bridge crew members Chekov and Sulu, given us a much more screen accurate Gorn and added new fan favourite figures such as Khan, Salt Vampire and Pike. If the future of the line depends on Kirk and Spock variants, this is not necessarily a bad thing since that is two more figures we generally wouldn't have.
Outside of that, if there are any figures on the wish list... We've always got our wonderful customs community to call upon to create those secondary and tertiary characters on our wish lists.Last edited by samurainoir; Jul 1, '12, 3:00 PM.Comment
