Has EMCE addressed whether or not these will be issued with new head sculpts or are these in the case of Spock the same head with a beard painted on? A part of me wishes the head sculpt of Kirk is identical (just flesh-toned) to the TZ one so I can justify not spending $30+ for one figure.

Kirk is the same head sculpt as our earlier releases of him - we cannot use the TZ sculpt since BBP paid for that work.
Spock is the vintage head with a beard sculpted on.

I don't think that if it was ok to use the TZ skulpt that it would stay true to the classic MEGO Kirk look!!!

I'll be getting these through Diamond Distributors. Can match the $34.99 price that BBTS is offering and can beat their shipping rates. Can understand if you want to go through a mainstream retailer though *shrug*.
