    Contacting Mattel for replacement on RA figure

    Hey Everyone,
    My family gave me a Mattel RA Green Lantern for my birthday on Saturday!
    Unfortunately, after removing him from the package, I found he has a slit in the costume on the back of his right thigh.
    A perfect inch long cut in the material, almost like a razor blade cut it.
    Monday morning I will contact Mattel.
    Does anyone have any experience with Mattel, good or bad, that they can share.
    Do you think they will do anything for me? He is from the very first wave.
    Please post. I am curious.
    Even some advice on who to talk to would help.

    i have found their customer service to be excellant. my daughter recently bought one of the Monster High dolls and her friend was a little too rough and broke the leg at the knee joint. i contacted them to see if i could purchase a new leg and they sent a whole new doll, no questions asked.
    however, in the case of the RA figures, they may not have any replacement figures/parts left. good luck

      I know in the past they had sent out vouchers for replacement figures, since they aren't being made anymore, I'm afraid you might be out of luck.

        I had some issues with the emblem popping Batman a while back that Mattel was pretty good about. I called the support number that was listed on the backer card. They ended up sending me a voucher for the item.

        However, considering that the RA line has been cancelled for over a year, I am not sure they will offer any support for it. Good luck and let us know what happens.

          They probably won't be able to replace the Green Lantern figure since that figure from wave one is long gone from most TRU stores.

          But the Mattycollector.com online store does have the John Stewart Green Lantern figure for sale. Maybe you could take the costume from him and put it on your Hal Green Lantern. I don't know if the Matty site would take a voucher.

              My Black Manta RA figure had a very similar problem. I probably should have contacted Mattel. The reciept is now long gone.

                        UPDATE:
                        So...
                        I have written twice to Matty Collector and did not specify which Green Lantern had the problem (They are still selling John Stewart), but I told them it was a gift.
                        They wanted to see proof of a receipt. I wrote back that I did not have a receipt because it was a gift. They repeated back the same reply.
                        The thing that bugs me now is that I DO have a receipt for my John Stewart but I can't find it anywhere.
                        The Hal Jordan was indeed a gift bought on eBay. I would submit the John Stewart receipt, because he shares the same suit as Hal, but it is misplaced somewhere.

                        A very nice member here took care of me and now I have a new suit on my Hal Jordan, but it is still irritating that Mattel can't do anything for me.

                            I had a similar experience recently with a wrestling king kong bundy figure. I bought 5 of them as 4 were for customs. So i was opening one and his leg was broken in the package. After jumping through several different hoops and a month later, i finally got a replacement. I had to return the broken one and the entire process took almost a month. The part that really ticked me off was it took 3 weeks to send me a new one after they had the returned figure in their possession. What took 3 weeks to send it drove me nuts.
