    Amazon zombie kit reviews

So I was on Amazon looking for measuring cups, and I took a look at
the listing for the "Create Your Own Zombie Kit". There were only
two reviews and both of them had trouble with the kit.

I have already contacted the two buyers to offer replacements
for the broken bodies, but I worry that it presents an unfair
    image of the kit.

I know that many people here have enjoyed the kit, so if you
don't mind, could you post your experience on Amazon? We have
sold out of the first run, so it isn't about selling them - and I know
that most of the time when someone bothers to post a review,
it's negative - I just thought it would be great if there was a
    more balanced image.

    Thanks for letting me kvetch.

Hmm, sounds like the same issues I've had with EMCE bodies. My Wolfman's arms were on backwards and have had several with split chests.

It's a fact of life with manufacturing. Some of the people assembling your
product are careful, some don't care. Every company making toys goes
through this, whether they have dedicated personnel in the factory or
      not.

When we were kids and got a defective product, you brought it back to
the store, they replaced it, and got a credit from the manufacturer.
Now retailers just point you back to the manufacturer.

I have tried to always make good on broken merchandise, even though it
costs me, because it stinks to have a busted toy.

Well, I really can't return it to a comic store, and I am not going to shell out shipping to mail it back. Wolfman I fixed, glad he had a screw together torso, the bands were so tight I never would have been able to do it the old fashioned way. Just wanted to point out that maybe this isn't an isolated incident with your bodies.

          Well that's a bummer Paul.
I bought three or four of those kits myself.
          I had fun.
          Sean had fun.
My daughter and her boyfriend (19yr olds) had fun.
heck, I even tried like the dickens to get the zombie theme approved for mego meet this year LOL

I do believe with each kit, we had something break - I figured it was just because we twist something wrong..or used too much force. If memory serves me, I think we broke three bodies altogether - hip pins broke as we tried to remove the calves and I think one torso came undone. It wasn't worth me yankin' your chain demanding new parts or anything, but if it happened to me, perhaps the issue was much larger?

I have parts left to build me another zombie..maybe two. I think I am out of zombie hands..maybe lower legs too, I'd have to check at home - life's just been too screwy lately to focus on it.

I was thinking of building a couple at the Meet this year to show how I, an amatuer, learned to do the dry brush method from the packaged dvd.

I know you bring an awful lot to the meet each year, but if they are in your possession, I'd really like to see your zombie posterboy figure..see that paintjob up close and personal :-)

The zombie kit was done by a new factory we were trying out - overall they
did a much better job on it than the factory that made series 2 of NOTLD.

It was their first time though working with these bodies, so I will be
ordering some more green and white bodies - without a deadline - so
we can work on assembling the bodies to avoid any further issues.

Read the comments for the review, Joe Sena is a little touchy.

Wow. He came accross as a total D-bag. That's a shame.

Joe is defending his product, and that mention of boosting the DVD to YouTube is copyright infringement...
Sit back and ask yourself if you'd be able to provide the capital to produce this line.
                      We all have debt.

I know I couldn't put up tens of thousands of dollars to have a factory make some toys.

Touchy? D-Bag? I respectfully disagree. Joe is a member here so I won't copy and paste his reply. He may want to do so himself or Dr. Mego may want to jump in again. Anyone who wants to read Joe's rebuttal, to the worst of his critics on Amazon, please follow this link. I think his points are valid.
