I'll buy the Mirror Mirror figures, I want this line to keep going, and it's from a great episode anyway. Wouldn't they be cool as a two-pack?

Thought I'd put in my two cents on this, since its the only line I support. I'll buy these since it was one of my favorite episodes, however I hope they stop after these two figures. One of my problems with the playmates figures was that they kept doing the same figures over and over again in different outfits. After I saw Chapel and Vina on Entertainment Earth's website I wished they would'nt have bailed on those figures, even though I wasn't going to buy them. I still think sales could be strong enough to warrant new characters from TOS if they choose the right ones. I'm still hoping for Commadore Decker, a Tellerite, Harry Mudd, and another crew member, aw what the heck I'll just come out and say it Kevin Riley.Comment

When you have the Star Trek license, you can make whatever characters
you want. We are not bound to reproduce every character that MEGO
made - especially bad ideas like the Neptunian.
The "bad news" is that retailers are worried about buying lesser known
characters and getting stuck with them - and I don't blame them.
I have cases of Keepers that will never sell at a profit.
If you don't want mirror Kirk and Spock, don't buy them. But I know
collectors - you'll get it in the future because you gotta have 'em all!
I get the feeling DST is doing the same thing to us with this release that Mattel did to us with RA. Squeeze a few more dollars out of us before they give us the bad news. I was going to buy these just to keep supporting the line in hopes of getting the 3 remaining original Mego Treks and Vina and Chapel but now I doubt I will. I wish the original Mego repros had all been offered before any new characters were produced. It didn't make sense to me to stop 3 characters away from finishing the original Mego Treks then abandom them, especially for another rehash of Kirk and Spock.Comment

I no longer "collect them all", it's too expensive, and I've stopped buying figures that I don't like just to complete a line. Most of the EMCEs were great, but I didn't buy the crew again, as I have them as Megos (twice, actually). I regret buying the EMCE Gorn, because -honestly- I don't like the way he turned out. I intend to customize all of him except the head.
But that's just one figure.
I didn't buy Pike, as I didn't like the head sculpt and paint application.
I'll support this line as long as it keeps going, but I just pick the ones that work for me....

I would be more inclined to buy the mirror figures if I knew we were getting the full mirror crew, but I'm really sick of giving people my money and not getting complete sets. Mattel really f***ed us over by not releasing the last wave or two of DC retros - Robin, at the very least. I wanted a complete Super Friends and a complete Legion of Doom. So much for that. Almost as bad as Bandai's Thundercats collectors lines.
If someone can guarantee me we'll get a full mirror crew, I'm totally in. Until then, I'll wait and see what happens. It takes money to make money. Plan for a full mirror crew and take my money, or release one figure at a time, and I'll wait until all of them have been released. As a collector, I'm losing patience with toy companies as I get older. This isn't a cheap hobby to sustain, and I'm sick of sinking my money into lines that go nowhere.Comment

I know you are not bound to reproduce all the Mego Treks Paul but I simply wish you had. Well, too bad for those of us who want them. And the Neptunian was always my favorite Trek alien.
I am also aware of the issues with retailers. If all they want is endless versions of Kirk and Spock then so be it.
As far as me buying them all, I enjoy collecting all of a line, but in this case I will only if they are different characters and not the same figures in different clothes.Comment

I don't gotta have them all. I skipped Pike because of the head. Although I love Kirk and Spock, I don't want multiple versions of them. I would have gotten Vina and Chapel because I love getting new characters that were never made in the old Mego line.
This is not to rain on the Mirror parade Doc. I'm happy for those who want them. I'll just enjoy the Next Generation stuff and the Universal Monsters when they come out. Thank you for making great versions of Chekov, Sulu, Gorn, and the Salt Vampire. And a very grateful shout of joy for remaking the Romulan. I wanted one since I was a kid, and along with the RAH Flash, you fulfilled two of my most wanted figures growing up.
Thank you so muchComment

What are the odds of getting a Tellarite (the piglike aliens in Journey to Babel)?

I keep seeing phrases like rehash and endless versions of...but does 1 new version really constitute a rehash? There is the original, and mirror. If they start putting them in strange outfits like Habro and Mattel did to Batman, then we can talk endless and rehash.
On a side note, my girlfriend wanted me to suggest a Chris Pine Kirk doll. She's in love with him...Comment
