    First Retro action figure

Hopefully some of you guys remember me. I've checked in from time to time but haven't been around much for several years. I had gotten out of the Mego game and had sold off all of my figures except copies of the ones I had as a kid.

I've had the bug resurface lately but a divorce has left me without a ton of funds in the short term. So I decided that picking up some Retro Action figures would be the way to get back into the hobby. Thanks to a post here, I've started picking up some cheap on Amazon and got my first, Captain Cold today.

So nothing new here. Most of you already have the set and multiples, I'm sure. But I did want to jot down a couple of thoughts. Everyone involved with getting these made should be extremely proud. You talk about a time machine trip! I have always collected non-carded/boxed figures so I had some trepidation about whether I would be able to take the good Captain off the car. Luckily (although this wouldn't normally be so) the plastic tray was damaged during shipping so it was a no brainer. It was '76 all over again as I tore into that package. Terrific homage to the way our favorite figures were made and he sure looks great on the shelf with my other figures. The only complaint I had was a loose body but he's able to stand on his own and that's all I need.

Yeah, that was a thrill for me, too. The first wave I got at a TRU with my kids and a good time was had by all
      It's all good!

Thank you for your kind words - a lot of work went into making these.
Captain Cold's uniform was done by Brian Leitner. His belt was a
reworked Andorian belt with the Flash Gordon holster and gun also
reworked. The boots were CHPs boots that my friend Joe sculpted
up - Joe also altered the gun. The head was sculpted by a fella
that works for Hasbro - I have to look up his name.

          The dementia has already started.

I bought my Captain Cold from Toys R Us. It was so cool to be able to go in, plunk cash down and walk out of an actual building. Wave of nostalgia!

Welcome back! Another Kentucky son on that boards! And trust me, I know the feeling of taking it slow. I am in the process of getting back into collecting MEGOs after many, many years and it can be a pricey hobby to say the least!
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

Thanks very much for the kind welcome back. The Mego bug may lie dormant but I don't think it ever dies!

And to the good Doctor, you can see all the hard work that went into these. Pure nostalgia magic.

THanks for the welcomes! It feels like I'm back home, to be honest.

And I'm hooked. I've got a Lex Luthor on the way. And my daughter is hooked on DC Universe Classics so we're a four color house right now.
