If they are made it would be a small line
if they go tv series the line would have four
      1] Logan 5
      2] Francis 7
      3] Jessica 6
      4] Rem
Doing based on movie agian it would be like four figures
      1] Logan 5
      2] Francis 7
      3] Jessica 6
4] Old man with a cat
I agree it would be limited but there are two other figures that can be added to either list - a red runner and a Carousel participant.

Also is know, going in, that a line will be limited a "bad" thing?

MGM is tough to deal with, the upfront costs are too high,
and frankly there is no fan base.

This is a perfect example of what a good customizer
can do. Then it can be the TV show, the comic, the
movie - whatever version you want.

Honestly, I'm even not that confident SMDM will be a decent seller.
I agree. Logans Run seems even less popular than Buck Rogers.
Expectation is the death of discovery.

Right! A total waste of time! The Logan's Run remake will probably still be lame! Some things are best left undone..this is for sure one of em! There are so many other properties that have stronger appeal and potential! So much even depends on execution! Look at Lost..a good idea that went bad...there are still even tons of the 2nd series that were made in a limited amount! I think the properties need to be carefully scrutinized! Even vintage trek isn't selling like gangbusters butI guess the Pike issue is a real problem for consumers! Top priority is a title that sells and second is execution..cause even Buck didn't sell as well as expected and Zica quality is unparalleled!

Okay, I will admit that this is the Pipe Dream to end all Pipe Dreams, but I want to see a LOTR set of figures.

              Aragorn.

              Legolas.

              Gandalf.

              The Hobbits.

              Gimli.

              Arwen.

              Elrond.

              Boromir.

              Denethor.

              Faramir.

              Sauron.

              Gollum.

              The Nine Walkers.

I know that there is NO WAY that EMCE would be able to afford the upfront cost for this license, but it is nice to dream about it.

The accessories would be kicking; swords, shields, cloaks, clothes, etc.

The sculpts would have to be spot on; I'd love to see Orlando Bloom's Legolas as something other than Ken with a new face. Same thing for Arwen, Galadriel, etc.

There's a much bigger fan base, but sadly, I don't know if the upfront cost could ever be made back, as it would be prohibitively expensive.

Lord of the Rings licensing could have been had for a song in the 90s, but only
a small die-hard fan base would have wanted them.

Pop culture merchandising, by it's very nature, favors the brands that
have high public interest. What's funny is that very few movie toys
                do well at retail.

I 'd get a set of both Movie and TV series figures. For the Movie you also need 1 of Farrah Fawcett's character.
"Hang on Lady... We go for a RIDE!" - Shorty to Willie Scott.Best movie line from Indiana Jones & the Temple Of Doom

That would be awesome. But, then, I'd love any kind Dungeons and Dragons sword and sorcery type line. But D&D is owned by Hasbro and is more than likely off limits because of it and I'm guessing Everquest and Warcraft are probably a bit pricey to get licenses for. I don't know. Would be cool, though.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

                        Hmmmm....

I would never say that ANY figure line is a bad idea.... I'm always looking for new characters to add to the army, but I can definitely see how a lot of stuff is priced way out of the range of being worthwhile. Logan's Run would be awesome, but I can see the licensing fee being way high.... especially since they've been humming and hawing about a new movie.

Awesome. We have the "go ahead" to make our own LR figures. Thx for the honest info!
If a Mego figure of God did not exist, it would be necessary for EMCE to invent him.

Folks are down on remakes it seems, but often i'm seeing a small trickle of merchandise that slips through based on the original property cashing in on heightened brand awareness. Whether or not it actually does well enough to have been worth producing s another matter.

Wasn't the original mego Logan's line 9" like the Flash Grdon figures? I guess they were really trying to find some use for those. Was it originally tooled up for the 1/6th Robin? There were enough of these left over in the late eighties that Maxx/FX was produced on them.

I personally would love a movie based Logan's run line, but you really don't see any indication of nostalgia or a strong fan base do you? Is there Logan's run conventions, message boards etc? 80's Flash Grdon has a much larger fan base and is much mre toyetic, how well did it do in comparison for BBP?
