    Upgrading RAH bodies

My apologies if this has been asked and answered already, but I couldn't find it if so:

Has anyone had any luck transplanting heads/hands/costumes from the Mattel RAH figures to better bodies? I hate the Mattel bodies, especially on the first couple of waves, and would like to transplant them over to Dr. Mego's bodies if I can do so without ruining the figures. I actually play with these thing with my kids and I'm sick of Superman's scoliotic posture while he tries to fight evil.

    TIA

I have put some RA figs on Doc bodies and some on Castaway, but I have found that the Flatt world Bela Lugosi body is a great swap. You have to cut the neck peg off plus a little neck to fit the swivel, but the forearms switch neatly and the thinner proportions fit the Mattel clothing quite well.

I have done it, but destroyed the Mattel bodies in the process. Try to soften up the plastic with hot water or a hair dryer. Use plyers to crack open chest to remove head. Same with hands.

They switch over to Mego, Doc, CAW, or even CTVT bodies rather easily. Most folks seem to swap the heads and forearms. Another solution is to take 'em apart and restring the Mattell body, but use a different pelvis. There was a great photo tutorial using a Sinestro that illustrated that mod.

The Flatt body sounds cool, but also sounds rather expensive for a bunch of figures.

If your just wanting to get rind of the 'bends' from the early production figures, just take a cotton ball and tear it into two pieces. Wedge one piece in the front of the pelvis and the other in the back. That will stabilize the body and resolve your problem without having to make major changes.

Here is one of the discussions involving changing the pelvis. A fairly straightforward swap tho there is some shaving of the donor pelvis. There was another more detailed swap of this sort and someone even compared different leg/pelvis combos, but I am not finding that one at the moment.

I got some of the Supermans and Batmans that were shipped with wave 4 cases
(Shazam...Darkseid) and the bodies are tight in the torso - so they were a later
run once the body issue was fixed in wave 3.

Was the body issue ever really fixed? Flash still has floppy legs, he may not have the dry heaves anymore, but it was not fixed all the way around.

yeah, i was wondering whether it had really been fixed. i justs got Adam and Shazam and noticed they were still floppy. not being negative about the line, i love it, just wondering what was actually fixed there

I don't get why the body was partially strung anyway, seems like Mattel would have been better off just making the whole body glued together like the arms were. And some of the way to tight EMCE bodies get me thinking that no Chinese factories understand how to make this type of body anymore.
