Bummer, too... I'm loving all the various new ReMegos but not getting more Apes is a pretty big disappointment. I understand things have to sell well to keep getting made but the Mego Ape line was my favorite, as a kid. I was SO looking forward to the Apes getting the same treatment as the EMCE Trek line... new characters and what-not.

From what I understood, the line was not terribly successful so additional characters were not made. That's too bad too because they were absolutely perfect replicas of the Mego originals. Flawless. I guess the market just wasn't big enough at that time. Perhaps with the success of this last apes film and a sequel in the making, new interest will bloom. Of course with renewed popularity there's no telling what the license will cost to make these again.

My hope (besides new figures) was a repro Fortress. It's the one ape item that I really wish I have.

Yeah, they're released in few years ago but drmego stopped making the next set of other Apes, Atronaut, Peter and Alan.

I'll try to making repro variation General Ursus, Urko and Soldier Apes outfits, 1 repro Astronaut and ordering DM brown Ape bodies, boots, moccasins, rifles, bandos, helmet and clamshells from his Website Dr. Mego's Repros and ordering repro cards Rebox your Mego from our member mego73........

The license was only for the first movie - I still wanted to make more
figures, but management at Diamond nixed it.

I own all the tooling and someday I will re-visit Apes.

It almost worked for ahi. Who made Astro-apes? Did they have any legal issues? How about Tong action apeman?

Great to hear you say you will revisit Apes one day Paul. There have been many awesome Re-Mego lines pop up in the last few years and I love and collect many of them but my top two, Star Trek and POTA, are in serious need of completing the original Mego characters. Three Trek and 6 Apes to go.
