However, Toy Guru has more knowledge about the Mattel internal
attitudes about this line. I would not expect to see anything
announced at Toy Fair from Mattel.

I will say that when we had a meeting in October 2010, Mattel assured
us the line was doing well and went continue for more than 2 years.
Then in December there was a major personnel change at Mattel
and the line was in jeopardy.
Any chance you can get your prototypes back and release them with someone else?

I look at it like this... This line was invaluable in fixing one HUGE VOID in Mego history. It gave us The FLASH!! And a very unexpectedly cool Captain Cold villain as a bonus. I was able to get up on a Christmas morning (back in 2010) and open me a Flash figure. The BEST Christmas I've had in ages (with regards to feeling like a lil kid). I want to thank Paul, Joe, Crimson and anyone else who was involved in bringing these figures to life. You guys brought it home and I am forever in your debt. Well done!

Well Said. The other thing that I want to thank them for is giving me the chance to give my kids a brand-new mego-like figure to open up out of the packaging with their own hands. The funny thing on that, too, is that my son has a box he keeps all of his beater Megos and RAs in all as one big happy family, but he has also kept some of the RA cards and pulls out the art on the cards and looks at it for a while and then puts it back in his box and plays. (All unprompted from me) fun!
        It's all good!

I am grateful for some of Retro figures that got made(and they're the only ones I own)...Lex Luthor, Sinestro, Green Arrow, Twoface and Aquaman.

This I whole heartedly second! I don't customize as an adult much. But as a child, I took countless hours to change my Megos into characters I wished they would have made. Doctor Doom, Black Panther, Taskmaster, and the FLASH were a few of my favorites. Thanks to Doc and everyone else involved (even Mattel) for making an official Flash happen. I loved all the characters made except for GL Kyle and YL Sinestro. The bodies were a travesty, but the rest screamed Mego to me.

I'm not giving up hope on these just yet. Scott has said many things in the past that just are not true. It seems like Mattel's right hand doesn't really know what the left hand is doing half the time.

Mattel paid for the unmade prototypes. One thing I do know about Mattel is they hate to lose money. Heck they are still trying to milk JLU fans. If they can, Mattel will get the unmade RAH out at some point. Perhaps a SDCC exclusive down the road. Whatever they do, I'm in no hurry. I moved on from RAH once they cancelled the line in a Q&A. Absolutely no class!

I must agree that Flash and Captain Cold made the whole thing worth it for me. My only disappointment was Batman, didn't care for him, the rest... especially the new characters, ROCKED!

                  Real Bummer!

Totally feel like I'm missing out on Hawkman and Robin! Matty says so many dumb and contrary things it is so disheartening! I have a feeling after some of their other lines bomb we might get our final RA's!

I too am grateful for what we've gotten, but it's a shame how Mattel has mishandled this line from the get-go.

Captain Cold turned out great, especially, if you upgraded the body.

Years from now we'll have conspiracy theories that Doc forced Mattel to use that terrible body so we'd buy his better version.
If a Mego figure of God did not exist, it would be necessary for EMCE to invent him.

It surprises me that anybody likes the Flash...that is an absolutely hideous head sculpt.

it was a cool thing to happen in the first place, the most fun that i liked when i collected this whole line was going to retail and buying them, just as i did as a snot nosed kid ,bringing back that feeling was the best part ,and getting the figures that were never done by mego ,was like why didnt they do these guys at the time ,this is what they most likely would have looked like was awesome ,everyone involved should get a pat on the back .

I always thought how great it must be to get paid to design a product, and get more money to replace it's defects. But that's a reflection on Mattel's own ignorance and Paul's ability to get it right. He deserves it!

I now have 8 factory made DC villains that Mego never made in 8 inch scale, for less than $25 each- that's less than just a painted custom head would have cost, and then I still would've had to get the suits, weapons, etc. I thought Capt. Cold was perfect on the Mattel body! Because of how his suit was made, the narrow shoulders and bow legs weren't nearly as noticeable. I kept him, Sinestro, Black Manta and Cheetah on the Mattel bodies.
