    John Horus... Info?

Just came across this guy on ebay and was curious about his Re-Mego origins. He looks to made of Dr. Mego parts and clamshell but I had missed this one along the way. Doc? Anyone?

I'm pretty sure he was a comic book character.

It is an abomination and I am ashamed of it.

It was a bad comic put out by a tiny company that also does
a Night of the Living Dead comic. It was made as a SDCC
exclusive - there is a blood spattered version too.

BUmmer, they're sold out of it now. Jim, I think this needs to be your next figure review. I dunno, despite what the Dr. says, there is something charming about this little John Horus figure.

The figure is not bad at all. There is something to it that catches your eye. I had seen one here (Puerto Rico) at a local Comic Shop.

I've got one, nothing to be ashamed about, Doc! All part of the Dr. Mego/EMCE history and I'm glad I have one in my collection!
"It's sad that governments are chiefed by the double tongues. There is iron in your words of death for all Comanche to see, and so there is iron in your words of life. No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Ten Bears carries the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life... or death. It shall be life."

What was bad was that we didn't have time to get it done right.
The jacket should have been military or Sgt. Pepper instead of
me gluing pieces of gold onto a labcoat.

The helmet should have been done in China, but there was no
                        time to get it done.

Just got it in and hmm. I see your points. I was actually just discussing those same points you mentioned with the wife before I saw that you had posted.

Still all of your existing work is still top shelf (body, boots, gloves, head etc...) but that poor helmet and "visor". I see and feel your pain.

I like the comic and like that the figure exists... Although it could have been improved to better reflect the crazy artwork of Jyan Jose Ryp (whs obviously heavily influenced by Geoff Darrw), it does have some Mego charm to it. Wish the line had continued to perhaps include othe Back Summer or Warren Ellis avatar characters... Like Gravel, Doctor Sleepless or Anna mercury.

Now, now Doc, don't get in a dither.

The figure, from what I could see of it, wasn't that bad!

Okay, there's room for improvement, but you were operating under a deadline most likely, and did the best you could with what you had.
