    Sold Out!

So according to Matty, all the DC Retro Action have sold out? Really? I am not sure what to believe. I hope its true though and Matty starts up a Retro club sooner than later.

Yeah, you cannot trust the Matty site with anything. However, I did notice that the batman and superman figures sold out before any of the others, so maybe it is true... .

Just like we did a couple years ago, we waited to see wave 1, now we wait to see what really is to happen with this line. Will it continue??? Who knows. We'll find out down the MEGO road here. Again the intense excitement starts back up!

Agreed. In a perfect world of unicorns and rainbows I would love to see Mattel sub out the license to EMCE at which point the good Doctor could start back at the beginning and re-release all of the first 21 figures using the existing head sculpts and costumes but on EMCE bodies and in EMCE resealable packaging, and then go on from there. I can honestly say that I would have no problem picking each one up again if this came to pass.

They'll likely reopen the sale again in mid December to take advantage of the Christmas rush.

                  Sounds good to me

I wouldn't mind that arrangement, although the upfront royalty for
the sub-license would be expensive. The real trick would be to
get them in wide distribution so the general public could buy them.

For whatever it would be worth I would have no problem going door to door old school style pitching them to every retail store in the country.

Is it possible that Diamond might bite on that?

I wonder if going exclusive Hobby or exclusive Toys R US would be beneficial. Both are wide range & the exclusivity is a bonus.

I must disagree... Toys R Us did the Retro's no favors... the best possible scenario IMO would be Wal Mart. No wider net than the one Mr. Sam cast Again, I'm talkin' rainbows and unicorns.

True, but Wal-Mart seems to be sitting on a LOT of DC product lately...none of it is moving anymore. DCU Classics, Action League, Brave and the Bold, Green Lantern are all hogging shelf space....
Think OUTSIDE the Box! For the BEST in Repro & Custom Packaging!

^ Our local here actually doesn't have very much with the exception of a ton of Green Lantern movie tie in figures. I think DC as a whole is in a rut with the lack of any really strong movie presence. Comics are impossible to find around here and IMO the new DVD features are a bit too boring to really grab kids or better put, make them want to continue the adventures of the DC heroes. It'll be interesting to see what comes in the next year to excite the DC fan base.
