At the end of the day, we all have our preference and when the final product comes out, many will love it and some won't.
No matter what arrives I'll be thanking my lucky stars that we're seeing a mego CFTBL.Check out my website: Megozine Covers - HomeComment

I'm standing by a cloth suit with vinyl fins & possibly a knights'-style "armored" torso.
I really believe that if the right fabric & detailing are chosen, this would be a great version.
I'm sure that "Remco" pajamas will not be considered, and a completely molded fig does not seem to fit into the Diamond aesthetic or cost model.WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.Comment

I was thinking of something along the lines of the EMCE Gorn. Same color of plastic with specially molded parts with maybe some light green or yellow-green highlights. Not as detailed as the DST 6 inch version of the Creature but still up to standards with the high quality look and feel of the others in the series. EMCE, BBP and Zica figures reflect how Mego would make these figures if they were still in business today as opposed to how they would have made them years ago when they were actually in business. I still love and cherish most of the original 8 inch Mego lines but I appreciate today's quality and standards with these figures.Comment

What if it were both? A sculpted, painted & fully articulated body with the option of a body suit? It may or may not prove price point friendly, but it might be feasible.
I wonder (pun intended) what the body suit enthusiasts in this thread think about the EMCE Wonder Woman? She's not "true" to the original Mego style because she does not come with the full-body style suit which was the staple of Mego's lady figures. Granted, she's a 50/50 example because she does still come with the swimsuit style textile costume. IMO, the EMCE WW is a vast improvement over the original, yet still seems very Megoesque to me.
Most Mego and Mego-like figures were representations of characters who, in their natural incarnations, wore fabricated clothing or costumes of some sort. The Creature is an exception to this rule. It seems kind of silly to me to create a costume for a creature, who did not wear clothing of any kind, simply to make him "fit in" with the rest. IMO, he shouldn't "fit in" because he's nothing at all like any of the other characters. He's a unique aquatic creature who should stand out on his own...in all his fish/reptile scaled gill man naked glory.
That said, if this can be achieve with some sort of rubberized suit that will match up nicely with the texture and color of the head/hands/feet, great! Otherwise, I'd prefer a sculpted body to a cloth body suit.Last edited by Dark Shadow; Nov 16, '11, 11:29 PM.Comment

^Yes, I think the right fabric can make a big impact--I am thinking of the 9" Hasbro SA Aquaman, which was a pretty good effort imo.WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.Comment

Whereas I think a specially molded body would be the neatest, I'm also realistic. The entire Mego philosophy was to have as few specific parts as possible for each figure to keep production cost low and therefore keep the product affordable to the consumer. The Universal Monsters are already running $20. Creating a special one-time-use mold for Creech will raise the retail price, probably doubling it. If a fabric suit going over a standard body can be created that conveys the line's standards, that's the way to go to keep the price low. If it gets too expensive, it won't sell, and the line will die. I think the lizard skin Soldier Ape material is close to something that would look good in green for a Creech.Comment
