I recall reading on here that one of the Mego creators, when asked if he would have made Sulu or Chekov had the Star Trek line continued, replied that he would have made more aliens.
In that way, some of these lines could work. The Irwin Allen stuff for example. I dunno if Land of the Giants would work, it would just be the cast and a giant pencil, but take Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, Lost in Space, or my personal fave, the Time Tunnel. Once you make a few main characters, like Doug and Tony or Nelson and Crane, you could make everyone from Marco Polo to a Manfish! Guys painted silver who could crossover to other shows!
Kolchak could work this way also. You got Kolchak, maybe Vincenzo, and then all the monsters you could think of!
Even Columbo! Think of all the guest stars! Patrick McGoohan! Martin Landau! John Cassavetes! Who hasn't wanted to make a custom for a Cassavetes picture? Jack Cassidy and Robert Culp with alternate outfits for their hundreds of guest appearances. Leonard Nimoy complete with "murder gloves", those leather gloves that people only wear when they are gonna kill somebody. It goes on and on.
Anywho, that's my two cents. Fun thread!Comment

A lot of the Hanna-Barbera shows mentioned would work well too. For example, Space Ghost, The Herculoids, Birdman or Scooby-Doo. Other than the main cast of these shows you have numerous very colorful and cool looking villians / monsters / aliens to keep the lines going for several waves.Comment

I'm amazing no one here mentioned Greatest American Hero. Maybe now that
Stephen J. Cannell is dead, his family will be willing to talk about licensing.Comment

If you could get the license to the Cannel shows Paul it would be awesome. Greatest American Hero and Hunter would make great Re-Mego lines. For me though, Renegade would be a dream come true. I guess you would still have to go through Universal for the A-Team though.Comment

I'll second a vote for the old LJN lines
Emergency - and beyond Roy and Johnhny lets get air bottles, the portaphone and turnout coats, Capt Stanley, Mike Stoker, maybe even lopez and Kelley
SWAT - the ljn line was cool but think how awesome modern head sculpting could be
ADAM 12 needs to happen - and the head scupt for Jim could adapt to a galcatica 1980 Cpt Troy
Starsky and Hutch - epsecially if more show accurate clothing or scaled torino
Starblazers if it could happen would be cool and as a cult scifi property the market would be wider like Trek and galactica but Jupiter Films would probably stop it
- IanRampart, this is Squad 51. How do you read?Comment

I guess it doesn't say much for the shows popularity that I'm the first to mention it, but Kolchak, the Night Stalker would be cool.
With two TV movies and a 20 episode run, there are plenty of fun monsters to work with.
A voodoo zombie, lizard man, android, Aztec mummy, a Hindu Rakshasa and a headless biker, not to mention Kolchak himself. If interest were high enough, there could actually be good stuff to come out of it.

I think a lot of old-timers here might have recognized it more easily because we post Kolchak love pretty often. He's on several people's Custom to-do lists.Last edited by Tothiro; Oct 30, '11, 7:52 PM.Comment
