    Star Trek

With Picard and Brog coming our way, does that mean we will new see any new offerings from the orginal Star Trek series?

Someone here involved in production of the Trek line a few weeks ago replied to a post questioning the sales of the line and said that if we did not think the Trek line was selling well just wait until SDCC. Well, after reading that I got all excited imagining what great classic Trek figures we might get in the future and even dared hope it would be The Neptunian, Original Gorn and Talos to finish off the original Mego line. I must say that after SDCC I was somewhat underwhelmed with the Trek showing. They didn't even show Chapel and Vina which is very discouraging. I love TNG and think the figures shown are beautiful and will buy them but I really am hoping this is not the end for TOS. I love Emce's work and will continue to support them no matter what but if we could only get Chapel, Vina and the 3 figures needed to complete the original Mego Trek I could get a lot more excited about moving on to TNG.

I'd love to see Kang, Koloth and Kor, along with Mark Lenards Romulan commander. OF course, you'd get Sarek in that as well

I WILL NOT buy any of the TNG figures until the entire crew is out. DOn't want to get left in the lurch like I did with WGSH

^^^ Buy what you like but I don't think you will see the completeness of characters as you saw in the Playmates line. Waiting for each crew to be complete won't be a nice and neat affair.

Despite criticism Pike & Salt Creature seem to be a success selling out in a lot of places. Tho Diamond has held back on Chapel & Vina people keep asking for them. When will they come out? No one can say. You can't really predict how things will unfold. Best to buy what comes out and enjoy it. If something never gets made you can always turn to customizers.

Paul explained in the podcast that Chapel and Vina are actually a tooling hold-up, since DST is using their own factory choice and didn't have a female body tooling. Chapel and Vina would be more likely/sped along if some other female body project was green-lit by DST, like the Dawn character he uses as an example.

I agree Re: entire crew. I'll be waiting a long time for Lt Leslie, (and Chapel, and Rand) but I'm glad I picked up Sulu and Chekov.

          [EDIT to add]
There's also been some financial shake-up recently with Diamond, DC Direct, etc. Things look solid for DST and all their lines for the foreseeable, but there's a question of production future for DC Direct and the ownership of Diamond may be swapping around. Spending your lunch money to buy a Sports team will always getcha.

If they can just get Chapel and Vina out, I'll be happy with that for my TOS crew.

On the podcast, Doc mentioned that they actually have proposals in for characters all across the Trek license for Diamond to pick and choose from. Here's hoping that the Next Gen is a success and we do get "Trek Universe" assortments mixing and matching characters from different shows.

What other characters would you like to see?

I think Worf in Klingon outfit would be a slam dunk. 7 of 9 of course. Borg Queen. Odo. Quark. Sisko. New sculpts for Movie Khan and Kirk. Spock in his Star Trek 4 robes.

From following the forum the last few years i got the impression that Retro DC took a lot of energy away from getting the Trek characters out.

( and we wont get a Talos, 15 thou to make a teen body)

Along with Lt. Leslie, I'd like to see Archer, T'Pol, and Shran.

                      Star Trek TNG and TOS

I would also love to see more TOS figures, like Trelane, Mirror Spock and Kirk, Spocks' parents, Mudd, and the main Klingon and Romulan characters. If the TNG characters do keep coming out, I will eventually pick them up as well, but my heart is with the TOS folks. But, keep them all coming.
