I won't be, dislike the character immensely. His slot in the wave should have been Tomar Re or a GL villain.

Reboot is passe actually
With all respects to the ol' Doc, truly a hero in rebooting our favorite version of action figure, it is these horribly large corporations that has distorted these modern tales of heroes. A real reboot would involve not making everyone Caucasian i don't think the underwear thing is much of a factor.
I think a new company should launch a new series of superheroes, one that is only a comic and animation company. As far as going digital, why does the company think that will be profitable haven't they ever heard of demonoid?Comment

Whether you like the underwear on the outside look or not it´s worked for 70+ years. It is ONLY MY OPINION that the DC re-branding will affect production of Retro Heroes were they to continue. It is fact as reported by Mattel themselves that after series 20 of DCUC the DC re-branding WILL affect the series so that it WILL be re-branded itself to promote the new character looks. Naturally it is ONLY MY OPINION that it will affect all other DC brands at Mattel. That´s why we are here, to have friendly discussions with fellow collectors about our feelings and opinions concerning what we collect, not to anger or try anyone´s patience.Comment

Matty
With that said, we now know we have the power to keep te Retro line alive. Lets sell out the Kyle figure in a matter of days, lets show Mattel we want more, I will buy a few figures and I believe all of us will do our part. Please buy buy buy, thanks.Comment

It is a shame that Kyle is the tipping point. Shouldn't Mattel know that there are a few fan fave characters left to do that would sell out?
Robin of course, but I'm sure Joker, Batgirl and Supergirl would undoubtably do well. They have the female body anyways.Comment

Would a "buy Kyle" campaign help at this point? I have to admit that seeing the JLU STRIPE campaign in action doesn't really give me much hope with our relative apathy in comparison. If they can't get it going with 2-3 times the numbers on a petition, and 5-6 times the numbers on Facebook, things aren't looking chipper when it comes to the Mattel incarnation of the line. We really are in a bubble at the museum.
Does anyone think a "Make Robin and The Joker" campaign would work better? It seems to be something we can all get behind.Comment

I like the BUY KYLE campaign! Too many mego heads DID NOT sign the petition or get involved! It seems Ghostbuster and He-Man fans are WAY more ARDENT and VOCAL! Seems silly with all the classic MEGO hoopla without community support to get it going AGAIN! BUY KYLE to get ROBIN! This is obviously the way to GET it DONE!Comment

I don't really appreciate Mattel's blackmail tactic of buying Kyle to get more retro's.You must try to generate happiness within yourself. If you aren't happy in one place, chances are you won't be happy anyplace. -Ernie BanksComment

I think the same customers that bought the previous Matty exclusives will buy this one. Burying a brief suggestion in this thread that Kyle is the line's 'last, best hope', tells me there is no real enthusiasm to promote this suggestion by Mattel.Comment

All I care about is a RA Robin and a RA Joker. Seriously. Why hold us hostage to this ignorant GL mess when Robin and Joker would sell NO PROBLEM.Comment
-
People should buy Kyle if they want him. However, I question Mattel's sincerity about his sales helping the line continue. I wouldn't waste money on something you don't want. That being said, I'll be buying a couple for myself because I want to.
I agree that if they want to test how well online sales would do, they should try a more popular character.Comment

First Paragraph.
As a result of the DC/Warner Bros licence, Mattel is putting the current DC Classics line of six inch action fugures out to pasture in response to the New 52 rebranding. Itwas announced at the recent San Diego Comic Con International that the DC Universe Classics toyline would be ending its run at retail stores, and replaced with a new, child-focused line of toys refelecting the new looks.
