The "forced down our throats" Green Lantern wave. What a great way to end the line...

To the newer folks who are ready to bolt... don't do it! There is far too much other Re-Mego goodness coming from EMCE, Bif Bang Pow (and I'm sure Castaway and ZICA too) to give up on the 8 inch habit.

Plus there is still hope that one of the aforementioned companies may strike Re-Mego hero again in the near future.

Thing is (and this is just me) I'm not really interested in anything but retro heroes and Star Trek. Essentially the stuff I had when I was a kid. Personally I could care less about Ghostbusters, Venture Bros etc.

I'm glad some folks are digging that stuff and that it's being made for them, but my interest was specific. If EMCE or someone can get a retro DC figure or two out, I'll be all over it, but like I said, Mattel can !@#$ @&$&# !!(@*&^

They won't see another dime from me

I love all the ReMego goodness that is coming out, but my money is limited, and like The Shadow, I am only interested in Superheroes,
and I have all the original Mego Treks I need.

The only Green Lantern that interested me was John Stewart, but I was low on toy funds, and now he's been pulled off of Matty.

These big companies own the rights to produce WGSH, and they make the rules, so it really sucks!!!

I would have liked a new Robin, Joker, and Batgirl!!!

It's not about the scale, it's about the properties (licenses) available in that scale. I, too, am really only interested in DC and Star Trek (and of course Marvel, but I'm not holding my breath). I enjoyed the Ghostbusters line and would have liked it to have gone further. Twilight Zone figure are very tempting, but not at the price they generally go for. I'm just not $20+ in love with those characters to shell out that kind of money on them - characters that have only appeared, sometimes just briefly, in a single episode.

We've had discussions on these boards about other classic, nostalgic or epic properties people would like to see including but not limited to Gilligan's Island, Bravestarr, Thundercats, Silverhawks, Captain Planet, etc. etc. etc. and I would sooner be into some of these figures than Venture Bros. I don't watch Venture Bros. I have no interest in watching it. I don't care for the bizarreness of it, the content I would expect to find nor the style of animation which just reminds me too much of the gross animation style of Ren & Stimpy which I always hated.

If someone licenses some properties I'd buy figures of, I'm in, if not, I'm out. Some random 8" figure with cloth clothing is not enough to open my wallet.

Personally, I wouldn't buy another figure from Mattel. Let Kyle rayner sit in a warehouse and at least get the satisfaction of seeing Mattel eat the cost

Well said. Maybe they'd have better sales if it wasn't for a piece of s**t Green Lantern line. I bought multiples of almost all of these figures, but I think I'll let them keep a Kyle Raynor or two. What a disappointing end...

I'm damn impressed by what Dr. Mego and co. put together and my hats off. I'm also glad to have these in my collection (other than then the GL figures that will stay in a box and off a display shelf, for sure).

I am ****ed at the incompentence of the people in charge of this line at Mattel. Really ****ed.

Glad I wasn't at SDCC or I might be in jail. I remember when Rob Liefeld traced his Capt. America pages for some knock off he made and I thought about strangling him (literally weighed the jail time vs. personal satisfaction); I would be close to that at the Retro DC panel. They really ended this in a shameful way given all of the good Dr.'s energy and passion.

Rather than engage in violence, I think I'll just leave my Visa card in my money clip whenever those *******s figure out that a damn Green Lantern (even Kyle Raynor) wears a ring...
                    My Updated Want List:

1970s Hulk or Spider-man metal garbage can
                    Custom Mego Nexus, Grendel

Have lots of comics and Marvel Legends figures for trades. Thanks!

Me too bro,i love all the ReMego goodness too,i have limited funds also but i collect what i like the look of,yeah i know it comes down to licenses and from being from across the pond its even harder,as i feel we get left out,i am sure if you wait you will get your John Stewart in the end but at the end of the day, without the folks who put their sweat and tears into bringing us these great figures,we would not of got nothing, just my 2 pence.

There are many of us who wished that said peeps would of produced this and that but like you said its down to who makes the rules.

I'm glad Dr Mego did so well bringing the retro heroes line to life, but personally I never cared for them.

Of all of the Megoesque figures out there they are the least Megoesque

To me, they're small deformed Big Jims

Because of this I wont miss them.

I think we should all remember our breathing exercises... No jail time. There's plenty of Good mego-like news to keep the headlines going and our heads high.

I swapped all the heads over anyway too, so no Jim bodies for me. I really love the Jon Stewart, so I'm glad they did the GLs and glad the RA line came out, or I wouldn't be bummed it was ending. I really hope BBP can work something out with Matty like Sideshow did with Hasbro (for the 12" SW license in that example).

Wow, that was the most anti-climactic news I've heard all day. What a disappointment, rats. What am I missing? Samhain is a popular enough character to release for Ghostbusters, but Robin isn't?

I'm thinking Samhain is in the same boat as Kyle. Product was in the works, but the line is closing. Those particular GB toys are in the Retro Action line. It is actually pretty nice to see them finish the set off with a Slimer and the gal.

Only megos or remegos I am interested in are super heroes and possibly planet of apes. So, I guess I will revert to buying old 1970s figures. Mattel will never see another dime of my money, period. The EMCE guys are great and I appreciate what they have done, Mattel and TRU are flat out incompetent.
