Write to Mattel save the Retro Heroes!

It has been said that the best way to influence a company is with a good old fashioned letter sent with a stamp! So with the news that the Reto line was dead, I thought we could all write to Mattel and let them know how we feel!

I suggest we tell Mattel that we loved these figures, would like to see more of them. We should be positive, keep it brief and offer constructive suggestions. One great suggestion may be for them to consider continuing as Matty exclusives or sub licensing the line to EMCE to produce (If DC would let them I suppose)

None of this may do any good of course, but come on, are we just going to roll over and take it??

Ok I'll do it. I'll hope it can continue but I'm sure it's done. I think the best hope would be matty.com exclusives and I bet the price would jump to 28-30, which I'd gladly pay to keep them going. Mattel makes limited runs at higher prices all the time. Let's hope they at least give it a try with these.

I agree the pen is mightier than the sword. I am so depressed that they canned this line. Seems ever since Matty got the WWE liscence, all of the DC product has suffered.

I finished my letter. It is going in the mail in the morning. Yeah, it may not do any good, but I really want to say that I at least did something!

Having said that...I'm not saying this is a waste of time (lol), but I'm pretty convinced Mattel will not move forward with Matty exclusives based on their online sales numbers for GA and GL figs. And if buying two of each figure online and in-store wasn't enough to convince Mattel, I don't know that my follow up letter would be of much help. I just think a company that size only listens to the sound of cash registers and retailer (not customer) orders.

I would be very interested to see if DC Retro could be solicited thru DC Direct, which I think would be a better fit for all if possible. Other than that, I'm looking forward to what's new/next for Emce...and of course to shots of the DC Retro protos that I'll never own, in a masochistic sorta way.

The thread got deleted pretty quickly, all i know is what's on the homepage. TRU and their crappy distro are to blame for half of this, and Mattel just plain sucked at getting anything non wwe out the door.

Err... The post with this bomshell disappeared. It was getting a bit nasty. I wouldn't mind if someone would tell me I imagined the whole thing and the Retro line is alive and well!!
