Amok Time can take pre-orders on whatever he wants as long as no one's
credit card is being billed. Maybe he is trying to build a grass roots effort
    to get them made.

I would give my support, but are there another 5,000 buyers willing to pre-order with me? Or one person who will buy 4,998 of each figure. It seems far fetched but I would really like these to be made. I just know if retailers would stock these two figures, they would indeed sell. It seems Wonder Woman and Cheeta moved well.

With so many Trek websites out there isn't there one where Trek fans are going coo-coo for coa-coa puffs over the EMCE figures? Tht would b the place to start generating interest.

The guys over at Amok Time are sort of used to leaving pre-orders open forever, because a lot of their projects re contingent on reaching a certain number of pre-orders. I'm not sure if it's a grass roots campaign as much as they're not used to having to close a pre-order, lol.

                Production

So none of these have been produced outside of the proto types? What are the chances EMCE could produce a small run and sell to collectors through Dr. Mego? Or through Diamond Select?

                  I really don't understand?

I really am confused aren't Star Trek toys a big sell at the conventions? I used to go to conventions just in hopes of picking up just this kind of thing.

I think the problem with sales has to do with the fact that the figures never have a chance to have presence on the shelves. Also, when waves of green girls are there without Kirk or Spock there is a kind of natural inbalance.

When I was a kid the main guys were always on the shelf and the 2nd and 3rd tier characters were the ones to hunt for.

Plus let's face it the real problem with the EMCE Trek is that Diamond still puts out the other line they should be dedicated to the format.

To much time has passed since the last wave. They were nice figures, but had there share of problems, perhaps not as much as Mattels. Also, they were not readly availiable for regular buyers, same problem Mattel has.I still see some still hanging on the pegs at my comic store, and they did not order a lot of them. All this has an effect and perhaps has helpped to contribute to the lower then expected sales sad to say.

And your data on "lower than expected sales" is based on what, the pegs at your local comic store? I wouldn't consider that a scientific survey in the least.

I have data on our Trek line that we can't disclose specifics on but let's just say that it is the diametric opposite of "lower than expected sales".

Wanna see how poorly this line is doing? Wait to see what gets shown at Comic Con in July.

I've gotten used to opinion on this board but misinformation ****es me off.
