There was an idea of a Matty re-do of the Alter Egos in another thread.
If they were to re-do them, I think that it would have to be as a refresh of the current Superman and Batman retro figures... including their alter ego outfits packed in as a "deluxe set".
Otherwise we'd just have the thing that Doc refers to as Guys In Suits. I think the popularity of the Alter Egos in our community comes from the scarcity and nostalgia factor, but if they were more common, much of the appeal is lost.
However, I think it is a perfect add-on to the "Dress Up" aspect of the Re-Megos that really have not been capitalized on. Particularly if you are doing Batman with removable cowl.
Alternatively, pack in specialized Hero accessories that make the Villain characters more desirable... if they make a Mr Freeze, have him include Anti-Freeze gear to put on Batman/Robin. Or pack in some kind of gloves and helmet that would protect Superman from Krytonite with Brainiac.
