as far as GL's go, the only way they'd get me to buy them is if it were classic silver age characters. I'll pass on anything modern, especially Rainbow Skittles Lanterns.

As cool as Alan Scott might be... If we were looking at Silver age I would much prefer a Jay Garrick before Scott.
Abin Sur would be cool, but again I'll probably either part swap a lex head and rit dye it or recast it and do my own... I would get behind a Guardian before any others, but maybe Killiwog or Tomar Re would win me over.
Beyond that my interest level would be pretty low. I've always liked the Hal character from his origin period, but not a big supporter of GL beyond that (except Stewart which is SO on my list) so I'm admittedly not the market. I'm a bigger Batman fan, but I wouldn't want the RA to turn into a bat-machine either. I like the idea of the exclusive releases supporting specific movie tie ins with related comic characters - if they're successful as a venture I'd think something like that might be the best use of the matty exclusive pipeline for getting things like a Jimmy Olsen/Brainiac or Commissioner Gordon/Clayface out.
I know OP pointed out that the hypothetical wouldn't detract from the regular release schedule, but my main hope is for the Mattys to stay broad spectrum and support the B list characters never made (Demon, Mr Miracle, Dr Fate, Hawkman, Blue Beetle, etc) and in my perfect world the exclusives would stay broad spectrum too.Last edited by Tothiro; May 25, '11, 5:08 PM.Comment

The GL Matty retro line can continue (and I'll buy) as long as the modern figures (SC Sinestro, Kyle, & to an extent Guy) STOP...
Give me...
Abin Sur
Tomar-Re
Katma Tui
Kilowog (pushing it, but I'd buy)
Star Sapphire
If we're going crazy, give me Medphyll, NautKeLoi, The Shark, Evil Star, Goldface, Doctor Polaris & Sonar.Comment

The question states that in this hypothetical scenario, the extra Green Lantern figures would not affect the production of anything else. Even in that case, I'm not interested. I kind of thought having four Green Lantern exclusives was already too many (although, since I usually only buy these figures at stores, I am glad that these four exclusives are figures that I don't want).
That's just my opinion. With the Green Lantern movie and the popularity of Blackest Night, I do understand why they're releasing so many lanterns. However, for me personally, it seems like a real shame that there's a Kyle Rayner and TWO Sinestro figures but no Joker or Robin.Nostalgia just ain’t what it used to be.Comment

Orginally we were making more than the four GL exclusives, but as scheduling
got tied up, the line-up shrunk.
Have fun trying to guess who else was in there - someday I will be able to
reveal the answer.Comment

Maybe Star Sapphire? I will cry if she was one of them that got axed. I'd really love her.Comment

Please no...I mean there's already 6 GL characters in a line that only has 17 or so figures in it. I mean seriously, when is enough enough with these GL's? How many do people need to be happy? I just don't get it and probably never will, especially since we've TONS of characters yet to be made.Comment
