The 70's Robin is the most likely one we'll see, since the core "Retro Action" line is trying to say just that. And, he's also likely in the next wave, since the past two have had no Batman related characters. My prediction for the next wave is actually: Robin, The Joker, Supergirl and Bizarro. I'm basing this on nothing more than the pattern they've established. We'll probably see a Red Tornado, Firestorm, Riddler, Batgirl, and Plastic Man at some point if the line keeps going. Which, by the way if it does I see it becoming an on-line exclusive possibly including Matty Collector. Toys R Us has no interest in stocking these, and Mattel won't play around with them much longer on it, when they can be selling more on-line.

This is what I'm hoping Robin will look like. But then...I was also hoping BATMAN would look like this version as well and that didn't work out for me.

Disco Nightwing you'll never see. It would be really cool but there is no purpose for EMCE/Mattel to tackle that. I have never seen anyone tackle Disco Nightwing and have it come out looking pretty good.
Well, I take that back...BlackKnight did it and I don't think we'll ever see a Disco Nightwing look that good like it jumped right out of a comic book!
There was another guy I remember who did it and had the figure in some kind of holiday scene with 20 other mego customs and I have never been able to find that picture/person. That was like ten or eleven years ago.
I dug that outfit when it came out it was Dick Grayson's departure from Robin and it spoke many levels.More custom Mego madness on Facebook right here...

Most likely, yes. The only original DC Mego's the Retro line still has left to do is Robin, Batgirl, Catwoman, The Joker, The Riddler, The Penguin Supergirl and Mr. Mxyzptlk. Plus, the Teen Titans and Isis, but I doubt we'll see those. The unfinished 're-releases' mixed in new characters never produced by Mego in each wave could keep this line around a while. Of the originals, Catwoman, Riddler, Penguin and Mr. Mxyzptlk could possibly be excluded, but it depends on how long the line lasts. I think Robin, Batgirl and Supergirl are hopefully definites, based on visibility alone. Again, all of this is conjecture and opinion and I could be totally off base.Comment

I think the Super Friends Robin should come first as well. But I'd like to see Tim Drake in addition to Grayson. The 90's is now Retro as time moves forward. (Which makes us old...but I still feel young!)
Retro is a culturally outdated or aged style, trend, mode, or fashion, from the overall postmodern past, that has since that time become functionally or superficially the norm once again. The use of "retro" style iconography and imagery interjected into post-modern art, advertising, mass media, etc. It generally implies a vintage of at least 15 or 20 years.
by MATTEL "if" a newer (or older) Robin model is chosen than Bronze Age Dick."No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris MannixComment

Bring on the Batman Figures.
They are probably saving up Batman figures to come out with the The Dark Knight Rises next year like they are doing for GL this year. However I bet they do Robin (probably Superfriends or Super Powers Style) before then probably teamed up with Scarecrow and save Catwoman for sure until next year to go with the movie. Will be interesting to see what other Batman characters they do. Would'nt surprise me to have Ra's as a Matty Exclusive. Anybody up for that? Doubt it they ever do Nightwing though.Wanted:- 12" Robin Shoes; Mego Batcave, Mego Die-cast Batman-loose, Mattel-BSG Gold Cylon loose.Comment

Guy's been around since the sixties, although his current look is from '84 (crisis). John Stewart debuted '71. Darkseid a few years after that.
Retro is the style of action figure, and shouldn't limit the character selection to an era necessarily. Why limit your consumer base when there are terrific characters to choose from a 75 year history of the dcu?Last edited by samurainoir; May 17, '11, 11:47 PM.Comment
