That's a shame. I was really looking forward to those two.

Diamond Comics orders product from Diamond Select Toys based
on commitments from retailers at Toy Fair. Given the retail
(e-tail or brick) environment - especially comic shops - there has
not been enough commitment to green light Chapel and Vina.

Organize the Star Trek fandom to commit to buy Chapel and
Vina. Collect pre-orders and when you hit 5,000 - and have
a good sized retailer behind it - I will call Diamond and connect
    you all.

Since I often see requests for information about Nurse Chapel and Vina, are there any ways the community could make enough requests to get Diamond Select Toys to put them into production?

Would you know if e-mails from comic retailers and individuals would do it? How about a sponsor?

If you can offer any suggestions, they would be appreciated.

What a shame we may never be able to add Vina and Chapel to our collections. The vendors have it wrong, these would have sold briskly, they are both desirable and we want new characters. To bad they did not pair Pike with Vina, and Chapel with Vampire. I really hope these get made...

I wanted the Female Romulan Commander, curse the luck!

Now it looks like we'll never get it. *sigh*

I wonder if the museum could get one made as an exclusive.

Several years ago, one of the Diamond reps tried to convince me to take on an exclusive Nurse Chapel. Financially, there was just no way that I could, and I was afraid I'd end up with thousands of them if I could somehow put together the money. I wish I had been able to, because I really want to own that figure.

I really hope it's not the end for the retro 8" Trek figure series.

I don't see how or why the new movie or even the one currently in development would be expected to generate any interest with the original series figures. It's a different cast and so on. I'd much rather lay blame onto Playmates before I blame a successful movie. The original Star Trek stuff is still in demand. Did too much time transpire from now and the last wave?

maybe they are waiting for the next trek movie, so that they can ride on its tail, you know big movie, people buy stuff related to it.

Even if the female characters are a tough sell, "Mirror Mirror" bridge crew or Kirk in his different tops should be easy sells, the remaining few Mego aliens, Kirk and Spock in their pilot shirts...a cue should really be taken from DST's Star Trek line. They had a great variety with minimal new tooling. Did what was produced really perform so badly that there's so little support? I'm hoping SDCC will have a number of big reveals. It seems a shame that the line has slowed down so. What happened?

Yvonne Craig played Marta, while Susan Oliver played Vina. Marta was a bit kookier, being a total psycho criminal.

I wanted Nurse Chapel and Vina (isn't this Yvonne Craig?). I didn't buy most of the EMCE Star Trek except some of the Aliens but those 2 I really wanted. Uhura's been the only Trek chick and she needs a friend.

Thanks for the news even if it isnt great. I was nervous the ladies would be in trouble.

I think pairing up Vina with Pike and the salt vampire with Chapel (wasnt that the original plan?) would've been better. Vina and Pike were in the same episode so that just made a lot more sense.

Nurse Chapel would make a nice exclusive...Vina would sell more and would make a better general release...plus I need 3-4 of her and exclusives can be a pain to get sometimes.

I guess I'll just hope for the best.

Nurse Chapel was one of the main characters, she was in several episodes and involved in the story lines. I really hope to see Chapel and Vina produced, time will tell. Dr. Mego says to wait until San Diego. I am still holding out hope.
