Strange thing about Mattel Ghost Busters

I stopped at the Toys R' Us in Downers Grove, IL today.
This was the first time that I had seen the Retro Ghost Busters in a TRU.
Mine in Orland Park, IL does not have them.

I noticed something strange when I picked up Winston.
He has a black body like Black Manta!
I thought "Oh they are using up the extras on the black guy.
    That sucks!"
But then I looked at all the rest and they had black bodies also.
Did the Ghostbuster have black shirts under their clothes???

I do believe the intent is to be a black shirt under the overalls, hence the black torso on the figures. I seem to be one of the few who likes the figures and accessories.

Yes, the black body was intentional and not made using extra Black Mantas.

I like the figures too. I just can't buy them all right now as I'm out-of-work.

My TRU has two full pegs and the things aren't moving one bit. Maybe the retro thing has no future at TRU?

Yeah, The same holds true here at two local TRU that I have been to.

For the most part the retro heroes are pretty much flying off the shelves at record speed. When they do come in they do not last long at all which is good. The exceptions are Flash, Sinestro, Lex and The Ghostbuster figures which have sat idle now since they first came in.

Shoot! At both the TRU that I mentioned they still have the Star Trek movie figures on clearance collecting dust. No one even seems to want them at $3.00 a pop. I am really starting to get sick of seeing these take up all of that room on TRU end caps. Get rid of them already!!!

mine's got Flash Twilight Zone and Ventures sitting around. Even at 16.99 the Zone and Venture Bros. figures aren't moving.

My TRU went through AT LEAST one case of Ghostbusters. The DC Retros seems to sell pretty well (when they get them in stock). There's only one Twilight Zone figure left if I remember correctly.

Yeah, all the TRU stores around me have them, but none of them are moving. I would have ventured a purchase had they been based on the movie and not the cartoon. Still fun to see Mego-like product out there though.

The price for the Busters is keeping me off, I can't pull the trigger on a marginal to me line.

Yeah, I am with you on the price point for the Busters. Not to sound negative or anything, but I really do not like the Buster figures that well. Although if the price drops like the TZ figures I would buy some up just for customizing purposes.
