    Possible Meijer-Retro Action news

I was recently checking the toy aisle at Meijer and there was a young male employee removing all the price tabs. He said he was resetting the asile. I asked about the empty retro pegs. He looked at the date on them (12-26-10) and said they were probably out of them. I said they had never come in. He said there was no telling when they would come in.

I checked today and he had put out some new Thor toys and the empty retro pegs were still there but the tags had the new date on them 3-1-11.

So I would think that the hope is still there that they could show up. It was about this time last year that wave one was starting to hit.

Yeah. That has been a weird one here as well. My son works at the Meijers up the street from us and supposedly they had a case of them a while back and were getting ready to put them out before their stock room flooded and got everything wet. The pegs remain in place without product to this day. I've just quit thinking about it. I guess if it's meant to be, it will be. Very odd though that stores would set aside space so early and never stock it. It's literally been months now.

I wonder if the delay on wave 5 has something to do with this. Someone on the board mentioned that maybe the initial "contract" with Toys R Us could be expiring. Maybe this even explains how wave 2 showed up at T.J. Maxx?

I really hope these get out into department stores like Target.

Dr. Mego...how cool would it be to improve the card stock and have an end cap full of the latest wave with an refresher of the big guns like Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman.

Glad to hear the contract might be expanding.

No Meijers nearby, & TRU is stagnating. Luckily, my comics shop gets these in.
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

Saw them at my local Meijers as well.

Meijer tends to buy a lot of stuff that TRU does.

Hopefully Meijer stocks them longer than they did JLU... Which was about 1 wave.

I went to Meijer this evening, and the pegs formerly allotted to RAH have been filled with Thor movie toys, and the RAH tags are gone.

It's very odd that a chain of stores would assign a UPC code and set aside peg space for an item they never stocked. When you consider the wasted space they set aside for this product and the labor used to reset the product boards and enter price codes into the system, the company wasted a lot of money for nothing. It's bizarre that this item could go from sales to a final isle display and the product never arrive. To say someone dropped the ball is an understatement.

I was just in Indiana and I saw the empty pegs it really sucks. I wish you could go to K Mart and everywhere else to buy these things just like when I was a kid.

What kind of store is Meijers? Is it like TJMAXX and Marshalls?
