Adjusted Darkseid (W/cape)

After Mego Museum member "Boynightwing" geniously came up with the idea of putting Darkseid on a Famous Covers Thor body, I decided to take it an extra step.
Unlike Boynightwing, he used a Famous Covers Thor body. I chose a slender Gambit Famous Covers body but left the padding inside the Darkseid suit and this is the outcome.

Yes, it is a Thursday night and I am up late brewing ideas.

I figured out how to glue and cut a new smaller hole under the Darkseid head so it can pivit on the Famous Covers body. I had to adjust the blue skirt otherwise his privates were hanging out.

Notice the size comparisons. Now he is perfect. I added the cape to give him a more in depth look.

(Hey Mattel people. If you are doing Green Lanterns...take note at that nice older blond haired Green Lantern on the left. How about an Alan Scott? Pretty please. You can't make Green Lanterns without the original.)

Don't worry collectors, I have an unopened Darkseid on my other wall.

You can pick Famous Covers figures off the Internet for close to nothing. If you keep the padding in the suit make sure you pick up the slender muscled size (Gambit, Daredevil, Spider-man, Vision...).
It's tricky and it takes some patience to get the suit over the figure. Make sure you have a pair of tweezers.

*note. The hands from these figures will not fit into the glove. Make sure you remove the hands and pack the fists full of sculpty at the ends of the Darkseid glove and then shove the arm in there (maybe a drop of glue to keep it on).

Thank you for clearing that up. I got these Famous Covers bodies in a big lot of custom left over body parts. Upon closer examination the body in my enhanced Darkseid figure is a Gambit body. The feet were missing so I had to reconstruct a pair with sculpty to fit into the bottom of the Darkseid boot. Since the Gambit feet are designed as "boot feet" if they would have been on the figure I could have recognized the body easier.

If anyone plans to do this using a "slender body" you should leave the padding in the suit. Just make sure you have a set of "work friendly" tweezers to help pull the material through the arms. Don't use tweezers without the rubber ends or you'll rip the fabric. I'm sure there are better tools for this but that is what I use.

I really like boynightwing's idea of stuffing the Thor body into the Darkseid suit. If you don't have any other bodies and want to do this just remember it is going to be a painstaking long process to cut the padding out without wrecking the suit. You may want to wait and grab a slender body (see examples in our previous threads on slender) before you attempt to cut up the Darkseid suit.
