Exactly! I had to cut out the padding without tearing the seams, and put the suit on the FC body very carefully. The boots fit just fine, but I had to put on smaller hands to make the gloves fit.

You're idea was perfect!
Except I kept the padding in the Darkseid figure and transferred the suit, boots and gloves to the 9" Famous Covers figure.
I didn't use the Thor figure, I used the Captain America sized one.
I had to remove the hands because they didn't fit inside the gloves and I packed them with clay.

I had to also properly readjust the skirt and belt because the blue part went up and his gray parts of his butt were hanging out.

This is my result. Thanks again for the idea!!
As seen standing next to my Superman. I love the new Superman costume (that is about it). The rest of the original Superman I kept (the head). That Mattel Superman head does not do it for me. It just looks wrong. I can't picture anything else being Superman (I think I may be stuck/hooked on the original head) so I also put the Mattel Superman costume on my new beefy 8 inch body, because Superman needs to be beefy.

Looks good, pal! And I feel the same way about Mego's Superman sculpt. But I love this line! I now have 8 factory made DC villains and 3 heroes that Mego never made, and more to come.
