Another beauty here! This is a sharp, sharp figure and the padded suit is an ingenious idea!

I have been blasting the padding suit for months but now that I see it I admit it looks fine. Darkeid looks amazing and I couldn't be more excited to get him.
Considering a new body wasn't an option, you guys did a GREAT job making this work!
I eat my words. He looks fantastic!

as usual, we don't have samples of our own here...can someone let me know if the collar can stretch over darkseid's lower neck as we initially intended? he kinda looks odd without it. thanx!

Not at all. I first started noticing this change when those Ghost Busters figures hit Toys 'R Us about a month ago. The mobility/playability seems to work fine and there are no limitations to the figure.

I just did the same thing.
He looks a lot better with a cape. I think this is one of Mattel's best figures and I cannot figure out why somebody would not like it.

You have to look at it as a Darkseid figure but more based on his Super Powers 80's look.
It's DC Retro action people. Not Superman/Batman modern Darkseid look.

Not bad, not great. Par for the course.

I'll probably pick him up anyway. Shame Mattel wouldn't spring for a new body.

I'll likely add a cape to mine too when I get it. He looks really impressive either way.

He does look fantastic, but one question, why no cape?

I was VERY dubious about the padded suit, but it turned out well. Darkseid (epsecially back then) wasn't portrayed as an overly muscled character, just a thick one. And this suit give that illusion.

Darkseid was a real gamble of a figure to do in only the 4th wave of this line, but he turned out alright. A cape definitely would have been nice, and the prototype collar did look a bit better. Judging by the stitching around the neck on the final product, I'd be surprised if it stretched around the base of the head.

For all those people hoping for a Solomon Grundy because Darkseid works as a "stuffed" figure, I'd be curious as to how the issue of Grundy's hands would be solved. If Mattel refuses to create a new, larger buck, Grundy would either need new hands or "gloved" hands which would be strange.

I'm hoping Wave 4 will show up at retail sooner than later and not end up being as seemingly elusive to retail as Wave 2 was - unless, of course they end up at TJ Maxx where I can get each one for $9.99. That anomaly actually served as the incentive to get me hooked on this line.
