Hey Gang,
You know I was thinking what would be really cool is if down the line some of the Retro figures (like Superman,Batman,Aquaman, etc.....) were released later in a Retro box. kind of a reverse of what Mego did. What are your thoughts on this?

That would be really cool. I just can't see Mattel doing it. However you could get repro Mego boxes from Mego73 or Toyroom and get an extra of each figure to do it. I have been toying with the idea myself.

More money goes into packaging than people realize.

Mattel has shown a propensity to be more than thrifty with the retro line, so I don't see anything changing. Plus, if you go into a toy store you can count on one hand, or even maybe one finger, the number of figures sold in a box. Cards are the industry standard for the forseeable future.

Cool idea, though.

I know its kind of a long shot but it may be a way to sell more figures maybe the early issue figures with the new bodies and it would also give people that started late to pick up some of the first issue figures.
