So, I live Delaware and have not seen wave 3 as of yet. I've been calling the Christiana store, the Dover store, the Exton store, the Media store, and the KOP store. I actually called the KOP store yesterday morning and they have me on hold for 15 minutes and come and tell me "nope, we don't have them". Then I see the post from a fellow member here that they had them at the KOP store YESTERDAY!! I mean, come on....the guy the KOP TRU store that I spoke with probably didn't even get off of his butt and check. What a bummer!!

Got The Flash and Captain Cold from my friendly neighborhood comic shop, on less than mint cards of course, screw being picky anymore. Capt Cold has to be the nicest all around figure of the 1st 3 waves. I've been waiting 38 years for a Mego Flash (I'm 42) and I'm seriously disappointed with the face sculpt, the shnozz expecially. The Flatt head that Dr Mego used to sell was dead-on but this one is so out of proportion. The suit on mine is super tight to where his waist looks like that a bulemic model, along with his thunder thighs the whole body design by Mattel is utter garbage.
I know, I know, I know all I do is complain. Well, I'm the customer and I have a right to be ticked when spending $20 a pop for a figure that's far from stellar

Judging by Flash's nose he's been hitting happy hour at McGillins (oldest bar in Philly).

If you open your retros do yourself a favor and put Captain Cold on a Cast-a-way body.

I'm glad you otherwise had a good experience with the retros.
If a Mego figure of God did not exist, it would be necessary for EMCE to invent him.

One thing about Flash's nose: it DOES resemble the licensing image on the front of the card

I'm thinking about opening all of them and swapping them onto better bodies, but don't feel like paying for parts so soon after getting the figures, if you know what I mean.
Flash would feel right at home at The Green Rock Tavern on Lehigh Ave. They have shelf full of Megos behind the bar, Voltron and other vintage toys, slurpee cups etc

No way!!!! I have to check that out this wknd. Sugar Moms (2nd & Church) has Japanese Robots that go around the bar and a 1:1 scale Predator head but no Megos. Thx for the info!

I prefer the new head. Always thought Flatt's was the one that looked
"too" off and after seeing Mattel's, I was happy it didn't mimic
                  the Flatt style.

As someone else (Krypt0nite) mentioned... Mattel's may be a bit wonky,
but it definitely evokes Barry's look from the 70s.

I enjoyed "finding" and "buying" them, not seeing them so much. They were available at Sears, the Treasury, K-Mart, Gemco, Toy City, TRU, and many other places. They are only found at TRU and some comic stores this time around. This means less to me, and just getting them for a good price is the goal today. Since most of these stores have long gone out of business, getting figs online is the primary choice.

The year is 2011, not 1974. It's not 40 years ago... circumstances and the retail environment have changed. I personally buy 85% of my collectible items online. I still go to stores (It is fun after all) but the chance any brick and mortar store has what I need these days is pretty much zero.

Basically, online is now, and the future, this trying to relive ones past via smelling the product at stores just isn't going to happen that much anymore.

If you want it, buy it online while you have the chance, else it may be gone before you can think twice about it.

                    Regards,

                    Geoff
                    ^^^^^^^ Speaks TRUTH

Things have changed drastically in the World of Toys. The Best Toys and Variety are Online! Toys R Us is no longer the store they once were and that of course is because of the Internet,Generational Interest changes (such as video games/Gadgets etc).

Who wants to drive around wasting Gas anymore only to come up empty handed constantly...how many times do you walk out of Toys Arn't Us with anything in your hand? Its just not the same and the toys hanging on the shelves are not the same.

The only thing that keeps me interested is what I grew up with (80's toys) and it seems now Toy companies are trying to capitalize again on that generation, who now has money to buy these toys again.

Thx for the address! I'll most likely stop by during the day. Beer and Megos are an unbeatable combo.

Saw a Flash and Capt Cold at the TRU on Cottman & Castor today, so maybe it's just the Franklin Mills TRU that's not getting them

Sometimes it might not be Mattel's fault but someone at the store that orders stuff might not know what they are doing. Where I work we had supervisors that could do the payroll for their area in the computer in an hour and some would take all day and still screw it up.

You could always perform Rhinoplasty (nose job) surgery on your Mattel Flash like i did with my Dremel Tool. Now my Mattel Flash highly resembles the Mattel card's drawn version. Will post pics soon.......My Mattel Flash head is being painted....as i post this, adding the final touches to the Barry Allen look.
