    Strange Lantern theft at TRU

I was at my local TRU, in Orland Park, IL, yesterday.
I thought maybe Wave 3 would be there. Hahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaa!!!
All they had were 9 Sinestros, and 6 Lex Luthors.
The strange part is that 5 of the Sinestros
had been ripped open somewhere on the package,
and the yellow lantern was missing.
I saw one, then two, then I started looking at all of them.
A TRU employees walked by, and then I thought that I should
show him, but he was gone, so I just left.
Who wants to steal all the Lanterns???

      An army building feind .

Dont tell the employee. They'll look at you funny. Used to rad about that in Raves in the old toy mags.

OR, kep an eye out on ebay. Were used to people buying that many to make customs and usually wouldnt question a guy with a lot of yellow lanterns.

Kids tall enough to reach the pegs "our" figures hang on are more interested in music and girls.

Imagine the embarassment of a Store Detective pulling a Burgess Merideth out of your teenaged pants

I'm talking about an 10 or 11 year old. Don't know why it's so hard for someone to think they can't climb up on the shelves to get to said figure.

I'd be surprised if a kid wanted a bunch of yellow lanterns. I think it was probably a collector (18-40) who wanted the lanterns for his DCUC Yellow Lantern Corp., or he is planning on making some customs with that new Retro-Action SC Sinestro we're getting and wanted extra lanterns to go with them.

Either way, it's theft, and I think it's absolutely despicable in its immoral and unethical nature. Despite the triviality of what he's stealing, he is hurting the line, because if this becomes a common occurrence and TRU has a harder time selling the product or can't, then they might just stop carrying the line altogether. Also, retailers take into account theft when setting prices in their store, so if there's more theft, the customer ends up paying more.

I can't say what I would have done to this guy if I had been there, but this kind of thing really makes me mad.

Actually makes sense. The DC Universe SC figures are obviously missing lanterns. GO figure there are tons of Repo heros collecting dust.

I hate when I see stuff like that. I always think that some kid somewhere is not going to get the toy he wants because somebody else was rude and unthinking.
                        It's all good!

From the pics online, it looks like many of the DC Classics Corps of different colours don't come with Lanterns.

The Build A Figure Arkillo doesn't have one either does he?

Most new packaging makes it impossible for someone to open up a DC Classics Sinestro/Kyle/Hal with discretion, whereas it's much easier with the retro packaging (and they are plentiful).

Perfect for handing to a Sinestro Corps DC Classics, or painting it black/red/green/black/white for another coloured corps member.

or someone who made a custom sinestro and doesn't want to dish the money for the much maligned retro body replacement.
