    Emce Romulan Helmet

The bubble on my Romulan got damaged so I decided to open him. I tried taking his helmet off but it's pretty tight on there. So here's my question. The helmet is supposed to come off right? I don't want to break him.

Yes, it's a separate cast piece with no connector (not like Thor for example). Mine was on pretty tight too - but I nudged it out and noticed a small gold paint transfer to the hair which scrubbed off... for the most part I have him displayed around Mego town just holding the thing.

Dang, I still can't do it. I feel like I might rip his head off.

You can try to gently heat it with a hair dryer and the head should get soft enough to remove the helmet. Or run warm water over the head and helmet to soften the head. Just be careful and don't rip the head off.

I typically squeeze the head by the neck/chin on both the Emce and Mego Romulans and then work the helmet loose. Seems to work for me at least

I don't wanna crack the helmet. I leave it on.

I took it off one of mine , I boiled the head by dunking the head in hot water after a few seconds the head softened up and the helmet just came off rather smoothly. I dont recommend leaving the helmet in the water too long. Also dry it off quickly so not to damage it.

Hehe. When I got my EMCE Romulan I wondered the same thing. "I bet I can find the answer on the internet... this sounds promising... the Mego Museum..." And, um, I guess I never left...

But yeah, the helmet comes off. I found a "squeeze the head and slide the helmet" technique worked for me.

I wouldnt put the helmet in water !!!!

I had the Cylon figures from Battlestar as a kid in the bathtub and it fades the electroplated chrome away.

Just yank it off. It's a toy meant for kids. Doc Mego will send you another one if it breaks.
( jsut squeese it a bit the first time , it gets easier more it comes off)
