    Mattel raising prices

Mattel 4Q revenue rises 9 per cent, but Mattel plans to raise prices as costs increase - Yahoo! Canada Finance

I wonder what this will mean for the ReMego's

I would think (and hope) Mattel will not touch this line because it's already priced on the high end. And with volume adjustments (based on their earlier statement) that will cover the bottom line...hopefully.

I have no prob with the current prices......but from what I read in the forum a price increase could be line suicide. I hope not.

I find this interesting that toy forums abroad the internet are reporting and often complaining about higher prices...but not understanding why prices are going up...

          its called Inflation

We have a currency thats been De-valued for years, which is causing prices to rise, let alone gas and oil prices are set to soar real soon...such as gas to hit $4-5 a gallon by the end of the year...Plastics use petroleum which are used in our toys...which will reflect higher cost from here on

unfortunately, the hobby is just gonna go higher in price and we are gonna buy alot less for the de-valued currency we use

note- the dollar is printed out of thin air, backed by NOTHING! only representing debt (an I owe you) and based on nothing more than 'confidence'....eventually this confidence will end

Exactly what I am saying prices go up. Buying goes down. Line is caput. I just hope they can find a way that works. We shall see.

Well, they're obviously not gonna raise all their prices...MOTUC for example.
Subscribers are locked in @ $20 per figure for the entire year.

If Mattel were smart, they'd jack the prices up on Hot Wheels. They've been a dollar or less forever. Make those guys pay $1.50= instant millions!

Many people on various forums are stopping their buying of DCUC due to prices (14.99 average per fig).

If Retro figures hit above $20 I think many EMCE collectors may jump ship as well. They are pricey as is, but $25 out the door... yeeesh!

                  Regards,

                  Geoff
