since BBP is partnered with EE, I think the orders throu the EE site will tell them immediately that folks are interested. If you preorder anywhere else, it will have to get filtered back to the EE site. Big Bad Toys and other online retailers may also have pretty much placed orders in for however many cases they are planning on working with for these lines.

For this specific cause, the direct order from EE is the best to do.

I preordered Jack and Sayid....I may have to add Sawyer and Juliet but I don't think I want Claire and Miles. If not enough people pre-order Claire and Miles does that make the rest of Wave 2 in jeopardy or just those two figures?

No, BBP won't say. I've heard positive rumblings, but that could be the more popular bobbleheads, too. I've seen nice steady pace on my EE affiliate links, but then one person pre-ordered 23 sets each, which I expect is not a serious bid. (23....Lost humor)

I don't know that March 1 is a firm deadline, but it will be time very soon to make a decision. Please, if you haven't pre-ordered do so, and if you HAVE, tell your friends!

Well, the March 1 deadline has come and gone. BBP says they can't comment one way or the other on the future of the Lost figures. No news is good news? We hope so. The figures were at 9, 11, and 13 today at EE top 50 coming soon.
