Good Guy, Bad Guy, Good Guy, Bad Guy?

Thus far Mattel has been sticking to a good guy vs bad guy theme with each RA wave. What's everyone's thoughts on this? I'm concerned that they'll feel the need to pair Hawkman with some crappy Hawkman villain instead of the countless awesome villains that Batman and Superman have.

Will this limit our heroes to only one or two villains each? I'd like to see a Firestorm or Plasticman figure too but I'd rather see them paired with a Joker or a Grundy first. Martain Manhunter was an odd pairing with Darkseid, so maybe I'm jumping the gun.

I also think an entire wave with a theme like "Batman villains only" would be cool once in a while.

Do you folks like the pairing startegy they're using?

I wouldn't exactly call Darkseid a Martian Manhunter villian. If anybody, I'd pair him with Superman. So I think they will be flexible going forward. I do like we're getting lots of bad guys and just a bunch of variant Batmen/Supermen.

I think as we get into some of the secondary heroes, you'll see some of the classic Batman villains cycle through. At this point, it's just fun to see new characters every few months. I'm really enjoying this ride now.

Agreed .... I totally like what they are doing. I do think that their hands will be forced to start being more flexible with the characters the release together as the waves progress. I doubt the will use really crappy villians as they will just peg warm and doom the line.

I like the good guy/bad guy pairing. But I wouldn't be upset to see Riddler paired with Red Tornado or Batgirl with Reverse Flash. To me they don't have to be arch enemy pairings.

I for one wouldn't mind a Gentleman Ghost pairing with Hawkman--he's fought Batman, too.

But I can understand your concerns. I do like the pairs idea, but it's difficult to squeeze in all those Bat-foes!

The next wave should be Hawkman/Gent. Ghost & Plastic-Man/Sol. Grundy imo.

Exactly! Penguin could be paired with Black Canary, for example.

I think power-levels might be considered, though: Firestorm paired with Star Sapphire rather than Riddler...

well the villians certainlly don't seem to be selling as well.
I actually saw a Mr Freeze today.
The only one I havent seen in hand is the one I want Black manta.

But he might not pass the visual test. I,m poor and picky.

I love obscure villians and the attention they have been getting in toys.

I hope they understand we would be okay with Swamp Thing paired with Braniac rather than Arcane.

I would rather see 3 goodgjuys/gals and one baddie. Always been partial to the goodguys. Too many good guys left to do, and I dont want any left out.

Well, God willing, these are still being made next year, I think we will get a flood of Bat related characters to tie into and support the Batman movie. Makes sense since they are oing it with GL this year. Same with Supes for the 2013 film.

Other than that, I hope they keep mixing up the variety. Keeps it interesting!

My mistake , oops. I was thinking of him as custom fodder for Mr Freeze.

Captain Cold is the other guy with an ice gun. Fights the Flash with Mirror Master. Got it.
