I WANT them.... I just don't know if they are practical.

I think it would be a great idea. The suporting cast are usually highlty sought after custom figures, so why would'nt they be prized production figures?

A great idea! As a kid, I always wanted to see the supporting casts - particularly Gordon, Lois, Jimmy, Alfred, etc. Heck, in the year of Green Lantern, get a Carol Ferris out there.

It is a good idea but they would have to be exclusives or packed with alter egos

Exactly, that's what gives me hope. I think a lot of people feel the same way. As for Alter Egos, Lou is right in that those could be relatively easy customs. We already have Bruce and Clark (if you ignore the hair curl), and I was thinking Egon's glasses painted black might work for a cool Fleischer/George Reeves look. And then if Robin comes with a removable mask, we're off to the races. But Alfred, Gordon, and Lois Lane are the "Big 3" I'd love to see Mattel do. Not sure about retail, but I do think they'd be very practical as exclusives or mail-away's.

If Famous Covers could give us Aunt May....

I'd most look forward to making a custom Dianna Prince! Since WW's tiara is removable we'd only have to put her hair up in a bun somehow and dress her in a military outfit! Give her a purse too to hold her magic lasso! I may actually do this one day now that I think about...a set of alter egos would be super sweet to see!

Better yet, Mattel themselves can issue sets of clothes as exclusives to redress the heroes!!! Similar to Mego's MW egos but without the head!

That would be super sweet the more I think about it! I would guess it would be relatively cheap for Mattel to make 8-inch clothes and they'd probably be able to sell the outfits for the same price as they are selling entire figures for. Might be cost-effective too although I don't know the ins and outs of toy manufacturing.

Because what WE highly seek isn't what the mass market prizes.

The exclusive idea makes the most sense for a release.

I'd rather have Gordon than some obscure Green Lantern villian.

Kids are less likely to buy old man figures, that's why they would have to be exclusives if at all.

I've no problem with them being Matty figures to leave the heroes/villains for the main stream at TRU.

From what I understand the money goes to molding. Thast why MEGO is such a great gimmick. only a new head has to be sculpted.

These guys know what we want.

Perfect then! If that's the case I would think Mattel could get $14.99 per alter-ego outfit and make some money! Being able to simply redress the existing Hero figures would be fantastic!
