Did Alex Ross help design the Flash Gordon figures?

I noticed on the special features section of the Flash Gordon DVD, it shows Alex Ross illustrating the Flash Gordon figures which he says he was brought in to design. Did he also play a role in the eight inch figures? Were the heads also based on his illustrations?

I'm sure he had something to do with the 6 inch figures that came out a few years ago.

Alex did give input on the 8-inch, but he is not an official "producer" or designer.

That's neat. Thanks for the information. I'm actually going to make him a civilian outfit (with the "Flash" t-shirt), so he has both versions in the eight inch format. Their great figures. Funny that both my favorite figures right now go by the name of Flash.
