I went to some new neighborhoods in the past few days. Found a total of 8 figures so far.
I see new toys being pushed out. I wonder how long this Mattel stock will last.

I couldn't wait to get home to let everybody know!

Mojo was just a couple of hours behind me and while I doubt anyone thought I was lying, I'm pretty sure it all seemed too good to be true until there was confirmation. Given that Mojo is half way across the country West of me, that was the first indication that this might turn into a widespread event. I think that was when the thread got interesting!

Part of my story is that the day before, I lamented not being able to find these on the peg since February of this year. I had made my "who-knows-how-many-trip" to TRU and still saw only Wave 1. (I realize I could order them online, but I want to buy them off the peg...to me, that is the whole point.)

The other part is, just a few weeks ago, I had been looking for a Martini Shaker and glasses (thanks to Garagesale for starting me on Martinis) and hadn't found anything. My Mom told me, "Go to TJ Maxx...they have everything.". Well, they had glasses and shakers for days.

By the way, I called Mom after I found the Retro Action Figures and she got a kick when I told her that TJ Maxx truly has EVERYTHING!

If anybody in this thread has picked up ANY of the wave 2 figures and wants to sell them for the cost, let me know.....I'm TOTALLY interested (as my tjmaxx has jack squat....same for marshalls).

I checked 2 TJM in my area again and there are no signs of DC Retros anywhere. Lots'a GI Joe, Transformers and Y-Wing fighters at 1/2 off tho.

              Just to update:

The Roseville TJ Maxx had a Superman on a fairly bent card tonight.

Well, the retro figures are flying off the shelves. My wife went to the nearby TJM and picked me up an Aquaman. She asked a worker if they had more in back and the lady told her they had recently put out a case. So sometime between when I picked up a Batman this past weekend until (morning time) today TJM almost exhausted at least one case.

Hopefully my sister can find a Black Manta and Superman at the location near her tomorrow.

It does say plenty about what changing the price does, eh?

                          Indeed, it does.

I'd have had every figure (and then some) from waves 1-3 already in my possession if they'd been $10 all along. I've had to stop, more out of principle than pocket, supporting other lines of Hasbro/Mattel due to the increase in cost. Comic books are my primary hobby so "Voting with my wallet" is something I'm quite adept with.

Isn't the case pack like 8? That's not really that many.

I agree though that this line is priced absolutely perfectly at $9.99. If they were wise, the execs at Mattel would look at this and see the bigger picture here. $9.99 = huge jump in sell-through numbers. $19.99 = not so much.

I saw what must have been 18 or 20 Lex Luthor's and Sinestros on the pegs at a nearby TRU the other night, no other characters at all.

Arizona TJ Maxx FAIL. No indications of their presence, although their toy section was a mess
